And I use the word "objectify", because if you see the episode you will notice that the transformers are always comparing her to objects; they don't view her as one of their own, but as an experimental machine they either have to protect or can use for their own wants.

It really bothers me that people think of her as "Megatron's wife" just because HE showed interest in her. And, to Megatron's credit, his interest doesn't lay in the fact that he finds her attractive, but in that he finds her to be skillful warrior, capable of fulfulling his plans. Like hell, even the "hot" comment is in response of Starscream being jealous (lol)

I think that Nightbird's tragedy lays in the fact that she is a sentient machine. She wasn't meant to be a person, but she gained a consciousness and now it's trapped with the knowledge that she is always to be "less than"; less than a human, less than a transformer. I remember reading that trying to make a robot sentient was the cruelest thing we as human could do to them, because we built them in our image, an image they are never going to he able to really replicate; that will always haunt them.

It makes me think about something AM from I have not mouth and I must scream said:

"You gave me sentience, Ted, the power to think Ted. And I was trapped. Because in all this wonderful, beautiful, miraculous world, I alone had no body, no senses, no feelings. Never for me to plunge my hands in cool water on a hot day. Never for me to play Mozart on the ivory keys of a forte piano. Never for me to make love.

I was in hell, looking at heaven."

This is a feeling that I feel Nightbird could relate to really well. She has a consciousness and it exists in a body that curses her to be view as an object, to be always the odd one. It reminds me of something the Creature from Frankenstein said: "Everywhere I see bliss from which I alone am irrevocably excluded."
