Look, it's simple. If a person has to actively work to make money, they're not "the rich" and they're not the problem. A surgeon making $200k a year still stops making money if they stop showing up to do surgery, because they're still selling their labor. The radical discrepancies in how we value different skills are certainly a problem, but the guy who makes money when he doesn't even get out of bed is the one making money on the value of other people's labor.

As a general advice on what to do with life I’ll tell you what changed my perspective. You do not need to do something you love. Read that like a thousand times. This is a trap that will lead you to bad jobs, instability and confusion. Every job is boring as fuck at times. Every job has good and bad things. Don’t sit around trying to find your passion if it is not obvious to you. Instead make a list of what you do know you want: do you want good money? flexible schedule? praise? passion? regular schedule? fame? intellectual challenges? regularity? job security? working in teams? working alone? Different people will prioritize different things. Passion is one priority, not the priority. To me I had very clear I wanted a very well paid job, an intellectually challenging job and job security above all. I was willing to sacrifice passion and free time. So I narrowed down things that fit those boundaries. I came up w a profession I was not like dreaming about being. But now I love it. So much. Don’t wait around for passion to strike. Make a cold and rational decision. Save passion for your free time.
