“Daddy, can you braid my hair?” She asked with a bright smile on her face, running her tiny hands through her unruly hair. The sunrise pouring through the windows made each strand shine a bright golden, spirals sticking out in every which way.
His eyebrows shot up at her request, lips tucking into his mouth as he stared at her hopeful eyes through the large mirror.
His daughter had stolen everything from him. His bright green eyes, his dimples, and most importantly, his curls, which he couldn’t even tame.
Ever since her mom had left them, he’d gotten a grip on most things. Packing the healthiest of lunches, even if she complained sometimes, taking her to and from school, managing her tantrums, but her hair was still something he was struggling to get a hold on.
On most days, Harry could get by by tossing her hair into a messy bun that was more messy than it was a bun, the process taking upwards to an hour with him wrestling with hair ties every morning. And sometimes, he even called his own stylist for a hand and had tried to schedule them over two weeks ago when she’d excitedly told him about her first ever picture day. But of course, on the one day he needed her most, his stylist was unavailable.
