here's a secret: whatever you're doing, you have to root for your peers with all your heart because it forces you to root for yourself too. I've seen people in various spheres of my life (workplaces, education, art, activism) fall into the trap of envy and resentment when they see others succeed while they struggle, and it always always goes hand in hand with them pulling back and giving up and stagnating.

when you let yourself get sour grapes about shit, you tacitly give up on yourself. when you sit around hoping other people will flop and fail so you can catch up to them, you stop trying. it's a fantasy of mediocrity, the vain wish that other people would walk so you could take the gold medal at a jog. wouldn't you rather come last place at 27mph?

It’s really not his fault - by the way you act and all the intel that was gathered you present as so sweet and kind. He didn’t expect you to be the kind of woman who gives her bodyguards the slip to go bar hopping. He certainly didn’t expect you to be on stage dancing at one of Toman’s clubs. What surprised him the most was the flash of possessiveness as one of the bar crawlers tucked a stray lock of hair behind your ear when you got off stage. It’s not even like you enjoyed it - waving him off with a laugh. But Mitsuya didn’t care. He only cared that someone touched what is his. In one second he was across the club, and in the next he knocked the guy out flat. Through the shock you barely register Mitsuya grabbing your hand and hauling you out to his bike until you’re seated behind him. Finally you start to argue that you aren’t leaving while trying to climb off, but he revs his bike and takes off - forcing you to either grab onto him or fall off.

Back home, you’re rambling about how ridiculous he’s being - that you’re allowed to have a little fun. Mitsuya remains deadly silent the whole time he’s dragging you up the walkway and you actually start to worry he might actually blow up on you. But when the door shuts he shoves you up against it before his mouth crashes into yours…

Thinking about arrange marriage to Mtsuya Takashi and he’s absolutely beside himself wondering how you’re going to act with his sisters. Everyone’s grown, Luna and Mana just started working part time jobs while in school but he’s still fretting about a relationship between the three of you that’s akin to the parent trap. He plans on introducing you to them over dinner later this week, but fate apparently had other plans as he rounds the corner to pick them up from their shift only to hear you verbally cutting someone down. His pace quickens when he hears Mana say, “it’s okay really! It wasn’t a big deal!” Followed by you snapping back, “it IS a big deal and we’re gonna to get it sorted right. Now.” Mitsuya is full on sprinting now, expecting to run into his worst nightmare, but skids to halt when he sees Luna and Mana cowering behind you while you’re staring down some cocky m’fer who’s grinning through your tirade. That is until you grab him by the collar and drag him down face-to-face before seething between clenched teeth, “Apologize.” And then this guy has the GALL to laugh at you, so you gently push Luna and Mana to the side as you drag him forward with all your weight. Slamming his face into the wall.

All Mitsuya hears is the clack of teeth, squelching of blood and crunching of the guy’s nose as it breaks - almost drowned out by his heart thumping out of his chest as he falls head over heels for you right then and there.

#you were just walking by when you saw him trying to cop a feel on Mana #Luna was trying to stand up for her sister but was obviously terrified #you stepped in not even knowing who they were because like hell you were gonna just keep walking #ofc you’re delighted to learn they’re your soon to be sister in laws and immediately take them under your wings #Mitsuya spends the rest of the night staring at you with heart eyes #and almost burn dinner bc he’s so distracted by you #perne’s thoughts
