Men are not inherently Evil

Everyone has the capacity for evil

Transgender Men are men

Transgender Women are women

Excluding Cisgender Men from your spaces requires Transgender Men to out themselves if they want to engage (Same for Women)

Anyone can be Non-Binary, there is no "look" or requirement

Non-binary masculine presenting people should be welcome in queer spaces, many are just treated as men and predators

Non-binary feminine presenting people should be welcome in queer spaces without being seen as "Woman-Lite"

It's choosing to be kind to people when you're in a bad mood, or when they're being annoying.

It's choosing to be kind to people who your friends don't like.

It's choosing to be kind to people who you don't particularly like.

It's choosing to be kind to people who you envy.

I'm not saying that you can't be a kind person and stand up for yourself, or tell someone to fuck off when they're doing something genuinely harmful, but there are a million petty reasons people use to justify treating people badly.

But that's exactly what kindness is. It's making the effort to treat people well when you don't feel like it.

Live in spite of all the horrible things your mind throws at you. In spite of all the hurtful things life gives you. Everything seems to want you dead? Live in spite of it. Don't let them win.

I saw this when running newpipe. But wait, it gets deeper. I clicked on the details buttons and it said as of today, we have 83 days left until Google rolls out this new requirement for apps inside and outside of the google play store. If any developer disagrees with their new terms and fees, they will be blocked!

Looks like they're trying to nuke the remaining privacy and freedoms we have left on the internet.

What to do?

-Get your developer friends to not comply to their new guides

- Sign the open letter on the site and take action by checking out the full resources list on their website as well!

To summarize, this is all daunting especially when you feel all alone with unfair and inhumane regulations comming out faster than improvements but we got this working together!

For Terminology Thursday, we're covering Folksonomies, a term for classification systems created not by site owners, but by the users themselves. Instead of a formal, top-down taxonomy, folksonomies grow from people tagging content in ways that make sense to them, making it easier for themselves and others to find things later.

The portmanteau was coined in 2004 by Thomas Vander Wal as a blend of folk and taxonomy. You may also see it referred to as social tagging, social indexing, or collaborative tagging.

As online communities grew, it evolved into a shared system shaped by many users adding, reusing, and remixing tags, appearing across various platforms, from social bookmarking sites to image-sharing communities like Flickr. In fandom spaces, user-driven tagging plays a significant role on platforms such as AO3, Tumblr, and FanFiction.net, where collective tagging helps fans organise, discover, and navigate content.

Discussions around Folksonomy often focus on its strengths and limitations, including its flexibility and community-driven nuances, as well as the potential for inconsistency or overwhelming tag variation. Still, for many fans, this organic, communal system is part of what makes online fandom so vibrant and searchable.

but it's an entirely new level of tragic when somebody you've actually spoken to gets turned into a bot account. it's like peeking at a zombie apocalypse through the window and realizing one of the shambling corpses was your friend.

and then the zombie catches sight of you, lurches up to your window, and shouts through the glass that they accidentally reported your account to tumblr and you'll be deactivated unless you click this link.

if you get something like this ↑ they're gonna follow up by instructing you to contact tumblr support on discord and give you contact info; or they're gonna link a website that looks sort of like tumblr support and say you have to email them; or any variety of "you must now contact tumblr, here is how you contact tumblr."

whatever they send you, it Does Not lead to tumblr. it leads to the master zombie that bit them and inducted them into the ranks of the undead, and will bite you the second they have your email and password. i might be confusing zombies and vampires. anyway,

it's easier to fall for these messages because the blog doesn't LOOK like a bot blog, because it ISN'T a bot blog. it's a normal person's blog that got accessed by a bot, meaning the blog's content CLEARLY looks like a real active user when you click on it. and yes—it might even be a blog you already know. sometimes bots like this go down a blog's DMs or reblogs and message people they've previously interacted with.
