i hope this doesnt sound weird! just an outsider/“respectful anti”? (not sure what youd call it) who is genuinely curious

But then it started looking fun and I made a secret alt account so I could interact with things more- I told myself I was a covert anti and I was just doing a deep dive into this community but I was really just lying to myself (this was about a year and a half ago). I wanted to be a part of a community that genuinely just seems to be open and accepting to anyone, as long as that person isn't harming anyone that doesn't want to be.

It's been nice to take solace in TransIDs and the community is both big and small so it never feels like you're posting to the void- if you post in the tags someone will interact with you and that's really nice.

Learning I didn't have to set aside my comforts to be part of the community helped me decide to just take the plunge. If I'm not comfortable with someone in the community or being around a certain ID then I can just block those people and there's no issue, not going out of my way to tell them and make it their issue I'm blocking them or have an issue with them.

There's issues, no one will say that there's not. Any community that is mainly marginalized groups is going to have bad actors trying to take advantage of the space- before I was in RQ spaces I was mainly in system spaces and everyone knows how bad the predator problem is there- if we take the actions necessary to keep the space safe and not allow predators then we're doing the best that we can.
