in reading m/f romance novels a pattern occurs where the woman's expected fantasy is assumed to be submissive. which is a fine fantasy have, im not begrudging anyone that fantasy. but what i find interesting is how few m/f books have women desiring dominance, specifically in sex. why is this a fantasy that is so difficult to find? (and yes, i do of course read f/f romances as well) and yes there are plenty of m/f books that dont have explicit or underlying dominant/submissive tones, but many do and the ones i can think of off the top of my head all require the woman to be the submissive every time. why the lack of variety? it is so frustrating.

Yep. Its been a great frustration of mine as well in games that have a player romance: if there is dominance implied the player will be assumed to want to be dominated. Which again! Is fine! But it sucks it's never the other way around

one of the best pieces of advice I've ever heard (for myself, at least) is that if you're in a terrible mood and NOTHING is helping, then start doing the chores/responsibilities/job stuff/etc that you've been putting off. Will it put you in an even worse mood temporarily? Probably, but you're already pissed off, so you might as well double up on it at that point 😭 there's no loss. It's not like finally getting around to cleaning the house and scheduling appointments is going to ruin the good day that you aren't currently having to begin with 💀 And then, when the bad mood passes, you'll have gotten shit done and you'll feel a lot better later, even if in the moment you're having The Worst Time Ever about it.
