The Estate's Secret

It is technically up to interpretation, but honestly, there’s a few things going for that the theory Rose Quartzes were made as an elaborate cover up.

1. Pearl says, “because… you changed your shape for the day! Now you look just like a Quartz.” Notice: she does not say Rose Quartz specifically.

2. Then, when they arrive on earth, Rose says “Hello, fellow Amethyst guards… what are we all up to?” Insinuating she was, at least, temporarily trying to pass as an Amethyst.

3. All the Rose Quartzes we see in the show were made on Earth by Pink Diamond. “They were hers,” Blue says. I think we would have seen them in the flashback to when the Amethysts emerged if they were out of the ground then. But they weren’t. Because they hadn’t yet been made by Pink.
