In essence, Pork Chop is the good-natured version of an older brother trope.

A mere few months from his eighteenth birthday, attempts to find normalcy and live out the rest of his teenage years as others did came in small incriminates. Of course he understood that he was predisposed to a much different life than others his age, but finding himself a part-time job at Fish Stew Pizza, taking acoustic guitar lessons from his dad, and even going as far as to get a cuff earring ( much to Pearl’s dismay and Amethyst’s delight ) was enough for the growing boy to feel, just for a few hours, like everyone else.

While it’s clear he’s matured, Pork Chop has retained the humorous and kind qualities he’s possessed since childhood. Taking after his father, an easy-going and optimistic outlook on life has made him a good role model for his brothers, trying his best to offer the occasional life lesson and perspective of what he’s learned being a ‘ normal teenager ’. Pork Chop is a playful tease, not afraid to dish out noogies and assert his ‘ brotherly dominance ’. All that aside, he genuinely cares for his brothers and would be the first to lay down his life for them, along with the rest of Beach City.
