i love how in blue period there are just So MANY fulfilling platonic relationships. I love how yuka and yatora come to understand eachother. i love that yatora has so much appreciation for yotasuke, even when yotasuke tends to be incredibly withdrawn. i love that yakumo, who could come off as an obnoxious and competitive character because of how overconfident he is, actually takes such a liking to yatora and is so drawn to him and is such a multifaceted person. i love yaguchi's friend group. i LOVE koigakubo and how constantly inspired he is by yaguchi. he can read him to filth. he doesn't get swept up by momentum and he stays with yaguchi and always confronts him when he knows he's being dismissive about something important. I love that yatora takes care of kinemi while she tries to take care of everyone else.
So many other important relationships but the head and tail of it is that yaguchi looks for something to learn from everyone. He can be dismissive and judgemental sometimes but he so often sees the best of everyone. He's so quick to be moved by people. He's a blank slate in a lot of ways, and so he's so quick to be challenged by people's beliefs because he simply never thought of it this way.
