warrior cats? in my 2021?

first up in thunderclan we have brindlestar!

previous name brindlewhisker, this guy was cursed from birth by starclan (starclan in paws of deaths interesting i should make a whole other post abt them) to have to WORST luck.

while his kithood was fine, his apprenticeship was where problems began. a war had started between thunderclan and shadowclan, and his mother, doepatches, had gone out to fight. brindlepaw and his sister amberpaw were devistated their mother was going out and could possibly die so they went to the battlefield too. amberpaw saw doepatches struggling against a huge shadowclan warrior, and tried to defend her, but was killed along with doepatches. he isolated himself while the war went on, only talking to rustytooth, his father, latchtail, his mentor, and yarrowpaw, his best friend. he became a warrior and while he was out hunting, yarrowpaw (now yarrowberry) came running to tell him that a dog had attacked. luckily his father, rustytooth, had chased it off, but he got bitten and the wound was infected. he visited rustytooth in the medicine cat den every day until the worst news came to him.

brindlewhisker grieved hard. he grieved for moons. yarrowberry was there as a shoulder to lean on, but still, brindlewhisker grieved. but one day, while on patrol, yarrowberry pulled him aside and asked to be hid mate. brindlewhisker was overjoyed for what seemed like the first time, immediately accepting. things from this point, went well. brindlewhisker was promoted to deputy, and even had 3 kits with yarrowberry, burntkit, violetkit, and doekit, who he loved more than anything.

until one leafbare, he woke up to see that 1 kit was missing. violetkit. he panicked and ran out of camp. he found violetkit trying to walk across a frozen lake. without thinking he ran onto the ice, grabbit violetkit by the scruff.

but the ice below them shattered and the two fell in. he fought to get to the surface, and when he did, it was too late for violetkit. brindlewhisker once again isolated himself, with yarrowberry feeling the same grief. the worst part was having to explain to doekit and burntkit why violetkit didn't come home.

and when the leader stepped down, brindlewhisker's heart practically stopped. usually becoming leader would be the best thing to happen to any warrior. but brindlewhisker, now brindlestar, didn't think he could handle the clan in this state. ripplepause, notorious liar of the clan, decided to take advantage of him and convince him to make him deputy, and brindlestar bought his lies.

and things were stable for moons, once again. not good but stable. burntpaw and doepaw had become apprentices, and brindlestar doesn't want to admit but he was having a hard time keeping it together when they touched noses with their new mentors. but only days after they'd become apprentices another disaster struck. a burning tree fell into the middle of camp. the clan evacuated and brindlestar took a head count to see one apprentice missing. burntpaw. he rushed into camp, and sure enough. burntpaw was dead, trapped under a smoldering branch.

nowadays brindlestar is mostly seen in the leadee's den with yarrowberry. he's taken up oversleeping as a coping mechanism. he doesn't need to worry about dreams. starclan hates him, they would never send him one.

woo that was a trip. poor guy. the next leader we have is tuckedstar of shadowclan!

previous name tuckedroot. tuckedkit was always an adventurous kit, straying out whenever they wanted. one day while out they decided to try the ultimate test, sneaking onto another clan's territorry. they carefully made their way to skyclan to find crookkit, a skyclan kit with a mean streak but with the same wanderlust they had. they became quick friends, both sneaking onto the others territories often.

tuckedkit became an apprentice, and soon attended their first gathering. crookkit, now crookpaw, immediately found them. they talked through the entire gathering, gossiping about apprentices from their respective clans. tuckedpaw was impressed with how much crookkit had grown, she was shorter than him when they first met. they continued to meet up, in gatherings and out (tuckedpaw probably transitioned around this time). tuckedpaw ended up developing a crush on crookpaw. he didn't care that it was from another clan at all. he was just too scared to confess.

tuckedpaw became tuckedroot. he decided, new rank, new me. he went to meet crookscar at the border and confessed to him. he didn't expect much, but to his suprise, crookscar immediately accepted, even looking a little relieved. the two lovebirds kept up their meetings for many moons before crookscar came with a strange offer, to join skyclan with him. the still young, still painfully naive tuckedroot decided to go with it. crookscar knew what was best for him after all. crookscar took them to skyclan, saying they were a loner who wanted to join, letting him "choose" a name so he wouldn't be renamed.

tuckedroot was happy, they think, in skyclan. the light hurt his eyes and he fell off trees more than once, but he was happy. crookscar was with him, so how could he not be? crookscar looked so happy becoming deputy, and even happier when their kits, vulturekit and alderkit, were born. things seemed to move quickly in skyclan, and soon, tuckedroot pretty much forgot everything about shadowclan life.

it was a dream. tuckedroot got to watch his kits grow up, crookscar by his side... alderkit became alderpaw, and soon, alderacorn. vulturekit became vulturewing. and crookscar became crookstar. vulturewing became his deputy. tuckedroot was overjoyed...

until crookstar began to ignore him. he brushed it off at first. he was leader, after all! he even let tuckedroot sleep in the leader den with him! but soon, that stopped. crookstar told him to sleep in the warrior's den. the medicine cat, silverfang, told him this wasn't normal, and that leaders usually let their mates sleep in the same den as them. silverfang basically became tuckedroot's therapist. he told xem *everything*. silverfang was appaled and gave them the best advice they could. tuckedroot went to sleep angry, and had an idea. he would leave. he would reveal everything and leave.

and that's what he did. nobody believed him though, except for silverfang, vulturewing, and alderacorn. alderacorn took his side, following him back to shadowclan. but when they got there, shadowclan was in shambled, having lost its deputy and leader in 1 freak accident. tuckedroot was told he waa the chosen one, the saviour, the one to lead shadowclan to greatness.

and so, tuckedroot became tuckedstar, with alderacorn as his deputy.

previous name crookscar, crookkit was, as the older warriors put it, a "self-absorbed little prick". they bullied the other kits, putting them down and then saying he was the best. his parents turned a blind eye, saying he would "grow out of it" and that he was just being a "scamp". he escaped camp often to see the sights and hunt prey just for the hell of it. one night he found another kit. they said their name was tuckedkit and they were from shadowclan.

the two became fast friends, often meeting at the border. of course crookkit used this to bully the skyclan kits, saying he had a "secret friend" and they didn't even have friends. the bullying did not slow down when crookkit became crookpaw. he bragged constantly, and gossiped about the other apprentices to tuckedpaw. he was an above average apprentice at best, and even bragged to apprentices way better than him, saying their success was a fluke.

the worst (he would say it was the best) part of his apprenticeship was when a fox attacked a small group of apprentices with him in it. he went for the fox's throat, but got scratched across the face. he was knocked back and the rest of the apprentices yelled to run. but crookpaw needed to show his worth and chased off the fox using brute force. he of course bragged about this too.

everyone held their breath at her warrior cerimony. crookpaw suggested he be named after him "noble encounter with the fox", so he was named crookscar after the scar it gave him. he was happy with this. crookscar went to meet tuckedroot at the border to tell him about everything, knowing they'd become warriors on the same day. to his suprise, however, tuckedroot confessed he wanted to become mates with them. crookscar accepted, even though he didn't really return the feelings as strongly as tuckedroot felt them, he had a plan. he went bsck to his den that night and thought it through.

if he was so great, surely his kits would be the same. if he could become leader he could make his kit the deputy and keep his greatness running through skyclan! and eventually, skyclan could overtake the other, inferior clans!

first step. he asked tuckedroot to join him in skyclan. tuckedroot obliged and he brought his mate into his clan. then he needed to become deputy. he got tuckedroot to suggest he become deputy after the old leader died. and then he got what he wanted. he became deputy, and tuckedroot had his kits. he named them alderkit and vulturekit. vulturekit looked more promising to him so he kept an eye o him.

and the next few moons were a waiting game. his kits became warriors, and now he just needed to become leader, and his plan was complete. and soon enough that happened. he had the whole clan under his paw. vulturewing, of course, became deputy. he had no use for tuckedroot anymore, so he unofficially broke up with them.

but to his suprise, one day, tuckedroot revealed everything. nobody believed him, thankfully, except for alderacorn. they left with him. crookstar didn't care. alderacorn was inferior anyway

fuck that guy OK NEXT ONE furzestar of windclan!

previous name furzeslide. ever since furzestar was a kit she has been haunted by ?!?!!?!!. *??*!!*?*+?*@? originally took the form of an apprentice named rockpaw. furzekit knew there was something wrong with rockpaw, but nobody else seemed to question them. rockpaw's pelt was completely pitch-black, and they had a flat face with a simple smile plastered on, no matter what was happening. furzekit tried to ignore rockpaw.

but it was hard when he became furzepaw. now him and rockpaw were the same rank. rockpaw always wanted to hunt in dangerous areas. normally this was ignored but one time their suggestion to hunt at the snakeroots was accepted. furzepaw knew this was a bad idea. and, sure enough, a fellow apprentice named yellpaw tripped on one of the roots and was bitten by a snake. they recovered, eventually, but nonetheless furzepaw scolded rockpaw for it. rockpaw seemed to just sit and take it. but when furzepaw was asleep, rockpaw snuck into furzepaw's den and projected horrible nightmares into his head. at this point furzepaw knew rockpaw was not a cat. and he wanted everyone to know.

so, during a training session, furzepaw lunged at rockpaw. he slammed her paw onto their neck. their pelt seemed to crack like stone, releasing the true form of rockpaw, *<?*?*$?>?, which escaped into the forest, its cat-shaped shell dissolving into the ground. furzepaw then ran back to camp before he could see his fellow apprentice's reactions.

the rest of his life, she's been haunted by ?>>?#?*<$<??*<#. nothing life-threatening. sometimes, she just sees that blank stare out of the corner of her eye.

previous name waninghail. waningkit was groomed to be a leader by her parents. her mother was a leader that retired, and she wanted to see her child lead the clan the way she couldn't. the problem was waningkit admired the medicine cat, and felt that was where her destiny was. her mother discouraged this, but waningkit persisted.

waningkit became waningpaw. waningpaw... the warrior apprentice. even thpugh she said she wanted to be a medicine cat, she wasn't. she was frustrated but went with the flow. that was riverclan's motto, wasn't it? she excelled in her apprenticeship, but didn't have any friends. she was, and still is, an extremely sheltered cat. because of this, combined with her parentage and original plans to be a medicine cat, she was the subject of a lot of gossip. she just tried to tune it out.
