need to post this because this is genuinely disgusting and bone chilling bs coming out of the spanish fa im just gonna repost this thead by colin millar
im genuinely just sat here reeling. fuck these men and fuck the spanish fa. the cover up bullshit detailed in that last tweet is literally sickening and i hope the whole rotting corpse of this organisation is flayed open for the world to see. no fucking words.
I think with how well Spains performing people are forgetting a couple things. Do not forget about Mapi. Or Sandra, or Patri. Or any other players who arenât at the World Cup. These players are sacrificing their life long dream for their morals. Letâs not let Spains success cover up the horrors of Jorge Vilda.
Sums it up really
Another one that sums it up perfectly

Nouhaila Benzina becomes the first player to wear a hijab (and get a yellow card and win a match) during a FIFA Women's World Cup on Morocco's debut at the tournament
As a reminder, this would not have been possible in France as the country's highest court ruled in favor of banning hijabs in women's football earlier this year.
Where's my Ethel Cain x Mike Flanagan collab?
There are friends, and then there are true friends. Katie Meyer was a true friend, in every sense of the word.

It feels so good to be home! The last 10 months have been a battle at every turn. I dug deep to keep my faith and it was the love from so many of you that helped keep me going. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone for your help. I am grateful to each person who advocated for me, especially my wife, Cherelle Griner, my family, Lindsay Kagawa Colas and Casey Wasserman and my whole team at Wasserman, Vince Kozar and the Phoenix Mercury, the players of the WNBA, and my entire WNBA family, Terri Jackson and the WNBPA staff, my Russian legal team Maria Blagovolina and Alex Boykov, the leaders, activists, and grassroots organizations, Gov. Richardson and Mickey Bergman of the Richardson Center, the Bring Our Families Home Campaign, Roger Carstens and the SPEHA team, and of course, a special thank you to President Biden, Vice President Harris, Secretary Blinken and the entire Biden-Harris Administration. President Biden, you brought me home and I know you are committed to bringing Paul Whelan and all Americans home too. I will use my platform to do whatever I can to help you. I also encourage everyone that played a part in bringing me home to continue their efforts to bring all Americans home. Every family deserves to be whole. As I transition home to enjoy the holidays with my family, I want to acknowledge and thank the entire PISA staff and medical team at the San Antonio Fort Sam Houston Base. I appreciate the time and care to make sure I was okay and equipped with the tools for this new journey. I also want to make one thing very clear: I intend to play basketball for the WNBAâs Phoenix Mercury this season, and in doing so, I look forward to being able to say âthank youâ to those of you who advocated, wrote, and posted for me in person soon. Love always, BGÂ #42

let me say something about grant and womenâs sports that I donât think many people know. he traveled to spain earlier this year to interview barcaâs womenâs team. he got long and very productive quotes from the teamâs best players. he couldâve stopped there, he already had the story. but no, he stayed, he interviewed pretty much every single player there. and then he transcribed/asked the for translation of every single interview, even though he already knew he wasnât gonna use some parts.
wanna know why? because he said they took the time to talk to him even if they didnât have to, so the least he could do was to return the favor and go through every single thing they said. thatâs respect. both to the women he interviewed and the profession.
in a world of glorified bloggers and people who rush to post breaking news on social media, he took the time to write actual stories with real sources. he took the time and actually invested in womenâs football. he focused on everything and everyone, not just the stars. he treated everyone with the respect they so rightfully deserved.
today truly is a heartbreaking day
btw he couldâve traveled to qatar and post regular stuff like every other person is posting, things like âcanât believe Iâm here covering a(nother) world cup, yayâ but no, he willingly risked his life by wearing a rainbow shirt and by reporting all the human rights violations around the tournament, while being in qatar. he knew the risks, he thought it was more important to be true to himself and to his job. it takes some balls to do that.
FINALLY!!!
