there’s nothing uglier than san diego’s shorts
Am I the only one worried that JJ’s contract will be up by the time CP can play a full game?
CP will come back later this season so I wouldn't worry too much. and JJ will probably renew for another year
#nwsltocolumbus so I only have to drive ten minutes to the crew stadium to watch a game. Cinci is too close to LV (market wise). Cleveland would be my second, it’s such an easy drive. One of the three cities will for sure have a team in four years.
I heard that cleveland will get mls/mls next clubs soon and that once that's in place, the nwsl bid will follow. but I doubt this last part, the bid could still come without the mls thingy I think
Watching JJ makes me miss CP could you imagine them together again?
CP can have both my legs if that means I'll see her play with a real midfielder soon 🥲
let me start the campaign early... #nwsltocleveland

thinking about the "journos" came for grant bc he wrote an article about cp's mom. you know that article where he interviewed HER DAD. how often do they write articles with interviews they did (not just mixed zone quotes)? don't mean to stir up that drama again, but it bothers me to no end they tried to call out someone for poor journalism practices. they would've all ran that interview if they had the chance. except players don't trust them enough to give them those interviews or that chance

remember this? hope we don’t have to read many hypocrites today

You absolutely nailed it. Grant risked it all to be true to himself and it may have ended in his death. He’ll be remembered as someone who truly loved Women’s soccer and supported it wholeheartedly. He’ll be greatly missed.
this is a huge loss and an extremely sad day, you can see how appreciated and how authentic he was by the messages you read on social media from the people who knew him
let me say something about grant and women’s sports that I don’t think many people know. he traveled to spain earlier this year to interview barca’s women’s team. he got long and very productive quotes from the team’s best players. he could’ve stopped there, he already had the story. but no, he stayed, he interviewed pretty much every single player there. and then he transcribed/asked the for translation of every single interview, even though he already knew he wasn’t gonna use some parts.
wanna know why? because he said they took the time to talk to him even if they didn’t have to, so the least he could do was to return the favor and go through every single thing they said. that’s respect. both to the women he interviewed and the profession.
in a world of glorified bloggers and people who rush to post breaking news on social media, he took the time to write actual stories with real sources. he took the time and actually invested in women’s football. he focused on everything and everyone, not just the stars. he treated everyone with the respect they so rightfully deserved.
today truly is a heartbreaking day
btw he could’ve traveled to qatar and post regular stuff like every other person is posting, things like “can’t believe I’m here covering a(nother) world cup, yay” but no, he willingly risked his life by wearing a rainbow shirt and by reporting all the human rights violations around the tournament, while being in qatar. he knew the risks, he thought it was more important to be true to himself and to his job. it takes some balls to do that.
