Bear in mind I’ve been an active user for the past 2.5 years, so there’s probably a LOT to export. But how many hours is it expected to take, typically? I’d kind of like to use my laptop for some other tasks at some point in the not so distant future. If it’s been more than 24 hours, should I give up and start again?

Incidentally, I stopped running the export at about 3:30 pm today, but now Tumblr Account Settings is being weird. The option near the bottom of the page to export my blog has now completely disappeared. Instead it just says "Active Sessions". I was probably too impatient, and didn't give it enough time to finish the backup.

This means that your export is still in the queue, it'll be processed at some point. You'll get an email when it finishes successfully. I don't remember if there's an email if the export fails, but if the button re-appears without you seeing an export, just click it again.
