Penta G: Good Game's Great Gameplay Gaming

Hey people! I hope you are doing well! It's been quite some time since the last blog post, huh?

A friend of mine informed me that Guilded has recently been shut down. Some of you here might know that as part of my attempts to revive Starbound multiplayer, I also tried doing it on a different (non-Discord) platform. This platform was Guilded. On Guilded we achieved the impossible. We got 200+ members, up to half of which registered on the platform just for Multiverstar/Penta G. Due to this, my partnership application was accepted on the first try. Unfortunately things eventually went south (as it always is the case with Starbound in the end... the game is cursed) and people became inactive on Guilded, which is why we later moved back to Discord.

Either way, I am happy that I was part of it, happy that I can say: "I was there!". And happy that I even have physical proof of it. A handwritten letter by a Guilded staff member (+ some extras). To those of you who were part of our journey during the Guilded era: Thank you!

Multiverstar Modded and Quick Start are now retired projects, which means that support will no longer be provided for them.

New character creator

The character creator has been completely redesigned. The categories like "Vanilla species" and "Modded species - Experimental are gone". Instead, species are now listed in rows based on what letter their name begins with. It also sports an immersive "Multiverstar Fleet documents" look.

Other UI updates

The anvil has new weapon tabs for existing and newly added weapon mods.

The foraging table now has a tab for the large amount of Avali items and for the newly added gel/strip mod.

The pet station was quite cluttered. Now modded tethers have their own tab. The newly added racial drones also got their own tab.

The spinning wheel also got new tabs for the new additions.

The wiring station now has a dedicated tab for vanilla-style alarms.

Basic Craft (C menu) also got an update. There are now even more tabs and as you can see, two tab columns.

The Inventor's Table's tabs were completely overhauled. The previous lineup of tabs and categorization of items was not very good, so I improved it.

It's the spooky month!

Starbound's probably biggest Halloween mod is coming to Multiverstar Modded! New crafting tables, decorations, scythes, costumes, pumpkin crops, trick-or-treating and more!

Crafting UI improvements

The Spinning Wheel/Sewing Machine got 4 new tabs to further categorize existing recipes and reduce clutter in the second tab. The Snugget tab contains items that are available to everyone but only Snuggets can/should use.

The Anvil/Forge/Replicator got 3 new tabs. The EPP tab was cluttered, so the light augments got their own tab. Paint guns also got their own tab as they can hardly be called actual weapons.

Finally, there is now a separate tab for the trim tools which let you modify blocks in cool ways and you probably didn't even know existed! You can get the recipes for them at the Small Instant Mail Catalog which is craftable at the Inventor's Table.

Items tagged MMP got their own tab. Same with the new items tagged SCB. Greebles got their own tab too. (I didn't even know these existed!) Finally, graffiti now have their own tab.

This, combined with the 150+ removed recipes (because they are also available at the Outpost Express) and two dozen or so more that have been moved, massively helped declutter the Workbench, especially the 4th (decor) tab.

Hey people!

Now that Multiverstar Modded and the Penta G community on Guilded have shut down, you might have assumed that Penta G was gone for good, especially since I said it would be abandoned.

I'd like to clarify this. What was going to be abandoned is Penta G as a generic gaming community, meaning there won't be a Penta G Guilded or Discord server. (At least for now.)

This is not that big of a deal because Penta G was always primarily about its projects like Multiverstar and Quick Start. The overwhelming majority of people joined us for one of these projects and not for Penta G itself.

Due to this, Penta G will for now just be the brand that connects the projects, with its bigger projects having their own space (like a Discord server).

The Quick Start project will technically stick around but there are no plans to do anything (significant) with it. There won't be a Discord for it, nor do I plan to add more mods to it.

Hello people!

Multiverstar Modded will be shutting down in less than 2 weeks due to financial reasons. In simple terms, the server was being run at around a 40 dollar loss monthly. At this this point I spent hundreds of dollars and countless hours of work on it. Unfortunately throughout all these months, while we did receive support in the form of votes, awards, ratings, etc., there have been zero paid subscriptions purchased.

You have less than 2 weeks to request your world(s). You can do so by using the /whereami in-game chat command while at your world and then sending the output of said command to me in DMs (direct messages). The mod pack and most of my published mods will continue being available on the Steam Workshop. You have permission to use the mod pack on your own server. (It's not like you need my permission, but just in case you want to know if you can: YES!)

I'd like to thank everyone who supported this project in whatever way!

I tried to save Starbound (multiplayer), improved on my server projects and community management skills over the years but it seems that no matter what I do, it is an impossible task. The game is simply losing more and more players and with the developers no longer supporting the game at all, it is only natural that the player count keeps declining every year.

I know some people are going to be angry and mean about the shutdown, but I firmly believe that I did much more for this game's community in the last years than most Starbound server owners/community leaders and thus am not going to react to any mean-spirited messages or comments. ( Might as well save yourself the time! :) )

The entirety of Penta G will be abandoned, because the truth is that the only thing people are here for is the Starbound server and once that shuts down I doubt there is going to be any activity. There already is not much of it to be honest.

The Bleak Star

The Bleak Star is more than just a weapon. It comes with its very own Skill Tree Interface where you can upgrade it. You can access the Skill Tree Interface through the quickbar or by simply holding the shift key for 2 seconds. You can craft the sword in the Basic Crafting (Handcrafting) menu when in admin mode.

DarkStar

A scythe that you can craft in the Basic Crafting (Handcrafting) menu when in admin mode. Features melee and ranged attacks, plus a frenzy mode that lets you swing faster!

Inventor's Table UI

The Inventor's Table now has a huge amount of tabs to make things easier to find. Some tabs include all crafting stations from a specific mod, others include a number of stations from a variety of mods based on what you can craft at said station.

The "question mark tab" might be empty for non-admins. Some other tabs will also be empty until update 3.0 is released.

Recipes that are neither for crafting stations nor for vendors have been moved away or deleted from the Inventor's Table.

Basic Crafting (Handcrafting) UI

Basic Crafting (Handcrafting) was incredibly bloated. It had a singular, gigantic list of recipes, making some things almost impossible to find. This has been solved with the addition of a large amount of tabs.

Spinning Wheel UI

Basic Clothing is now available for more species at the Spinning Wheel.

The Spinning Wheel now also has additional tabs. One for Bagel's More Clothing & Basic Clothing, one for plushies/furniture, and one for mannequins.

Better Ships - Walls UI

Added extra tabs to this UI for better categorization of the available items. Also switched the remaining contents of the originally last two tabs.

Rail Crafting Table UI

The Rail Crafting Table now has tabs, making it easier to find what you are looking for.

Wiring Station UI

There is now a tab for recipes added by Automation Aides.

Kitchen Counter UI

Added a Dedicated Tab for Aging Alien Alcohols.

Navigation UI

The Cutieverse - Space Navigation Reskin aims to make the universe easier to navigate (and more interesting) by adding new visuals to the navigation UI.

Collections Library

The Collections Library finally works as intended! The collection added by Elithian Races Mod is in its own tab with the rest of the custom collections being in the gear tab added by Custom Collections UI.

In addition, a number of new custom collections have been added.

Extras

The above two mods add turrets that can (and will) target players. Useful for PvP arenas!

This mod changes the underwear of the Kitsune and Halfsea species to be similar to the underwear used by human characters due to these two species' default underwear being "incompatible" with some cosmetic clothes.

Hello everyone!

2023 is slowly coming to an end, so let's recap the things that happened and what we achieved.

In August we relaunched Multiverstar modded with the Multiverstar community now being hosted on Guilded. Both the server and the community saw huge success (in Starbound terms). As of the writing of this annoucement over 800 characters have been registered on our Starbound server and around 200 people have joined Penta G, with most people having joined for Multiverstar.

Towards the end of September we released a mod pack update for Multiverstar Modded, which we now retroactively consider to be version 2.0: New Dawn. We also held the New Dawn celebration at a brand new hub built by @Dex . Both the update and the event were a success, with many people having expressed their love for the server and the community.

Around that time we expanded our staff team. @Zeta and @Dex have been promoted to Multiverstar staff members due to their exceptional contributions to the Multiverstar project.

Towards the end of October the mod pack of Multiverstar Modded got updated once more. This update was originally known as the Fixes and integrations update, now retroactively considered to be version 2.0.1. A bunch of issues have been fixed and I believe the update helped make the server more stable.

Around that time we also launched a new subsection of Penta G called Sussy G: An Among Us community. Not much has been done with this yet, but Among Us sessions are planned for January.

In November we launched another subsection of Penta G. This one was for the Penta G clan in the Zo Samurai Roblox game. This hasn't found much success yet.

Later in November I became an official Guilded partner and later on Penta G became a verified server/community. Many thanks to Guilded for appreciating what I do!

Towards the end of November we announced #👷Open staff positions for the Multiverstar project. @Thunder applied for the @Loremaster position and has been promoted.

In December a new way to review our server has been added: #👍Review us! . We also upgraded some of the Multiverstar channels.
