I'm definitely not the first person to do this but I gave Blunderpants a purple cape because I wanted to make his design more distinct from Underpants other than just the wig so that he was more obviously like the "anti-underpants"... Thinking about it now I maybe should have made it blue because that's the opposite colour to red on the colour wheel but eh I like how the purple looks

More Captain Underpants color script / color keys work I did for the film.  In the production design of the film, I really wanted to push for an “institutional” look in the style and color of the school location, giving it a penitentiary vibe instead of an elementary vibe.  That feeling is ever present in the books from author / illustrator Dav Pilkey, and I love how it gives the school a great sense of character in the film.  Our director David Soren really embraced this concept, and helped us push for this in the design and tone of the film.

Some color script / color keys work I did for Captain Underpants.  This part of the process is always fun, I love exploring how color can help set the tone for the film.
