seasonal depression is very un-fun. for lots of people, summers vary, but winters are just bad. to anyone else who is dreading the coming of this season, here are some things to remember:

you are worth more than the chemical imbalance in your brain. depression does not define you. how you see yourself through the clouds of depression are not how those around you see you. you are worth far more than the chemical imbalance in your brain.

make sure you take care of yourself. self care information found here and here and here. self care cannot cure depression but can make living with it easier.

resources are important to have on hand in case you choose to seek help or advice or pursue recovery. that being said, it is a-okay if you aren’t ready.

be patient with yourself. depression is a struggle and recovery is a process. you do not have to make yourself whole overnight. 

you. are. not. alone. in any of your struggles. any complexity, intricacy, detail associated with your depression, someone, somewhere knows how it feels. what you mean. how you feel. and, as a piece of hope, chances are that someone, maybe the same someone, maybe a different someone, somewhere has found a way to recover from it.
