          like a child’s glee over a favorite family member staying to visit for just one more day, daryl’s heart flips as he thinks seeing her around alexandria like he used to ( and he wonders: will she still wear those flowery blouses that both camouflaged and ostracized her ? ).

          then again, if she wanted company, daryl assumes she’d go to the man she left a note for. not him.

                 she’d not even thought about sleeping arrangements and the thought of having to spend time in these beautiful houses like she used to do make her stomach lurch uncomfortably   ---   she’s so used to being alone now  (  and she prefers it  )  and even though the houses are huge and, she suspects, much emptier now, she just wants desperately to go back to her little cottage in the middle of nowhere.

                  she’s made her choice though. she has to stay.
