Moe: Â
Hearing Gabby say her name felt foreign, but also so familiar. She used to swoon when it left the other’s lips, and given the way her heart felt as thought it skipped she realized not much had changed in that department. “Hey..” she breathed out. Her eyes scanned Gabby’s face, “Wow you are…” a shy smile washed over her face, “even more beautiful than I remember.” The words were off her tongue before she could even think about it. Think about the situation. Shaking her head as her cheeks turned a bright shade of red, “Sorry, I still.. haven’t found a filter.” Biting down on her bottom lip, not sure what to say but not wanting to walk away. “I suppose I should say it’s a small world and all… that seems appropriate. Though, I’m not sure what is considered appropriate.” Shaking her head, a hand running through her hair, a nervous tick she hadn’t learned to get over, “Sorry.” Her tongue ran over her bottom lip as she looked down at the deck before back up, “What’s spurred your cruise adventure?” Â
Gabby couldn’t help the pleased, melodious laugh that passed through her lips underneath the weight of Moe’s compliment. She felt like a young schoolgirl again, madly in love for the first time, blooming underneath the praise and adoration from her girlfriend. “That’s okay!” she assured, giddiness fluttering through her and joining the nerves, making for a dangerous emotional cocktail. “I’m extremely flattered, thank you. Time has treated you extremely well too. Like a fine wine, you are.” A rosy flush spread through her, and she idly messed with the stray, flyaway strands of hair sticking to her face. The two of them were quite the pair, even now, as their reactions mirrored each other. “I, uh, don’t think there’s a how-to for an encounter like this. If there was, I doubt either of us would follow the convention anyway.” They never did. “I’m here with some of my beautician gal pals. It’s been a crazy wedding season, so we decided to do a “treat yo’ self” trip. What about you?”
