Jonah stood around, holding two coffee cups and feeling like an idiot standing out there. His logic was that the weather was finally getting better and it might be nice to talk and walk around. Actually, that was a bold faced lie even to himself. In truth he just didn’t trust himself alone with Elliot right now. He didn’t know if he’d be angry or sad or just jump his bones from being so happy to see him. But he needed a clear head if they were going to figure this out together, yet mostly he still felt like he just needed Elliot. Maybe that feeling never really went away after he left.

Elliot fumbled his way down to the familiar court yard. He juggled two mugs of coffee in one hand and rubbed distractedly at his left leg with the other. The limb had been acting up again, radiating out with the anxiety and unease Elliot had felt since his return. Jonah.. The guilt ate him up inside. Pain and worry about how the other was coping. He only hoped that Jonah would hear him out. “Oh..” He mumbled, a small laugh escaping as he saw that Jonah was also bearing two coffees. The more caffeine for them both. He fell quiet for an uncomfortable moment before setting down the mugs and going in for a much needed hug. It had been months. His body ached to be near the man again, to talk to him, to love him. “I’m sorry, I know I can’t make it up to you, but really.. I’m so, so, sorry. It was awful.”
