normally pegasus wouldn’t go to an outside source to check on how henrik was, but he hadn’t seen the guy in a while and that was out of the ordinary. going to terence would have him worry and he wanted to avoid stressing out henrik’s boyfriend at all cost. so by process of elimination, he went to nani.

henrik laughed and shoved his best friend away “you’re such an ass. why you gotta mess up my hair like we’re five again?” he asked amused and fixed his hair. “honestly, i’m surprised as well. he’s never been a fan of any distractions in my life, i think he likes terence so he gives him a pass” it was the only reason henrik could think of because otherwise phil would’ve ruined his relationship already. “persephone definitely had final say. especially since she’s been on bed rest.” give his uncle his due, hayden had demanded that anything persephone wants goes. that had always been the case. “it could be the dead of winter and you’re still roaming around in a vest” he chuckled. “i could ask the same about you and the kitchen. i do my own training as well as being a personal trainer. phil has been working me overtime these days though, we’ve got competition season coming up soon, which i’m not looking forward to” henrik had been thinking if he wanted to keep up the competitions, his priorities had changed since being in a relationship with terence “what about you though, is there anything going on outside of work?”

“because i know it annoys you and your ass needs to be kept grounded” he chuckled, thoroughly enjoying being a little shit. “i suppose. just don’t let him take this away from you. that goes for your parents as well, henrik” they’d taken enough from henrik, and they wouldn’t ruin this for henrik and terence, pegasus would make sure of that. but he also knew the grip his the hera tyrants and phil could have. “persephone always has the final say” he chuckled. “well yeah, it’s hot! just because it’s winter, it doesn’t mean i’m not boiling” he worked in kitchens for crying out loud, they were hotter than the pits of hell - which was fitting considering who he worked for. “do you not get tired of doing these competitions? don’t you want to just chill out with terence and not be in the gym twenty four seven? look man, i support you in anything you do but fuck that must be exhausting” he really didn’t want to see henrik burn out “not really, i’ve been on call for persephone given everything going on. she tries not to bother me, but it’s no issue. i don’t really get out and about to see people as much as i do. by the time i finish working between third street and the bodaway’s and clean the kitchens, sort prep and all that, i’m knackered and just want to go to bed”

“Oh, really, that’s too kind,” Basil began, trying to wave off the offer of the umbrella. But the other man had a point. He did want to try and protect the books that had not ended up on the ground. Sighing resignedly, he nodded. “Thank you.” Folding up his own broken umbrella, he managed to scoop up the waterlogged book and notes. “I suppose the next step would be for me to not write notes on paper either, but then I fear any device I write them on might rebel on me eventually too.”

“it’s no problem, man. gotta protect those pages” it was the least he could offer the guy, it would be a shame for the books to get ruined. “nothing wrong with doing a bit of both. i’m a bit old-school myself, i tend to write everything out until i’m happy with it. then i’ll do the whole typing thing but i try to avoid it where i can”

“i said i would be here. besides, it’s not like i’m going to leave terence to come to this on his own. it was me who thought you were bailing. i didn’t think hayden would give you the night off” it was good to see his best friend as much a part of his family as he was. pinto always felt more like a brother to him anyway. “nah, i’ve not seen him yet. the last i spoke to him he was debating how much he wanted to lace up his shirt or not” henrik barked out a laugh at the reasoning given “chef’s run hot is not a valid excuse” he continued laughing “i’m good thanks, glad to be out the gym for a while. yeah a beer would be good thanks”

“oh yeah, you got that boyfriend of yours to keep sweet” he chuckled, ruffling up henriks hair “look at you being all loved up and shit. i’m surprised phil hasn’t tried to intervene - is he not complaining about distractions and such?” he jested. he knew phil was tough on henrik, as was hayden. seeing henrik have someone to be happy with was all pinto could as for, it was about time the guy got something for himself and on his own terms. “neither did i to be honest, but i’m guessing persephone had final say on if i was working or not, and lets face it what persephone says, goes” the only thing more frightening than hayden bodaway was a pissed off persephone kore. “it’s a very valid excuse, thank you very much” he counter argued as he handed over henrik a beer “what the fuck do you do in the gym all the time? surely there’s only so many miles you can run, weights you can lift and squats you can do?”

he knew exactly who pegasus was when he had entered the ball. a man so defiantly against wearing shirts as well as suits, only pegasus could get away with wearing a white vest to a masquerade ball and still make it look cool. henrik approached his friend and clapped his hand on his shoulder “did you not get the memo about dress code?” he teased with a chuckle “how are you, man?”

with persephone resting up, hayden had given him the night off and who was he to question the man. pegasus had hightailed it out of the bodaway home, leaving the couple in peace and went to get ready for the ball. not long after did he roam into the event and headed straight to the bar. by the time beer number two was on his hand, henrik made his arrival “hey! thought you might’ve backed from coming. is trav here yet?” he asked looking around “what can i say, chef’s run hot. i can’t stand stuffy clothing” he laughed along with his bro “i’m good, hoe are you?” he asked taking a swig of his drink “you want a beer?”

Sunday late afternoons were an intense time of many conflicting auras, to Arista. Many were troubled with what they had not managed to accomplish on their weekend, others were at peace, enjoying the way the world seemed to pause on Sundays. Arista was the latter, herself. Weekends were typically busy at the cafe, so when she saw that someone needed a seat, she volunteered the one across from her. Eventually, after some small talk, Arista interrupted.

“What’s their star sign? The person you’ve been talking about.”

it took him all his might not to laugh “arista, be honest, do i look like the type of guy that knows fuck all about star signs? i don’t know shit about them” he eventually chuckled “sorry to disappoint you”

“it’s no one special anyway, just some chef that i used to work with that was calling me about their new restaurant opening up. he’s an asshole. every time he’s got something coming up he phones round the rest of the chefs he knows to gloat and rub it in our faces.”

Basil did not like when things got the better of him, especially when said thing was an inanimate object. He was currently in a tense battle with his umbrella, the rain not having abated while he had been in the library. Unfortunately, he also had a few books under his arm, one of which had several sheets of notes tucked into the pages, and the struggle with the umbrella led to that particular book falling and spilling the papers out onto the wet sidewalk.

“Oh, confound you, you infernal device!” he snapped, sighing and giving up on the umbrella for the moment to focus on the papers. Noticing that someone had seen the whole incident, Basil bristled a bit and huffed, “One would think, with all the modern conveniences, they would have invented an umbrella which actually works by now!”

pegasus had watched on at the man literally wrestling with an umbrella for a duration of time that was more than what would be deemed usual. “never, that would make life too easy for us” he chucked and offered his umbrella “here, take mine. i have a hoodie on and you’ve got books to protect. you need it more than i do”

Garlic bread and soup

“Oh man who would have thought soup could compliment my garlic bread so much?!” Terence said enjoying the food that was presented to him. Now that his boyfriend was taking care of his meals, Terence was finding himself enjoying food on a whole new degree. It no longer was to still his hunger- it was eating because he enjoyed it.

“it’s one of henrik’s favourites too. he thought you might like it” he smiled as he wiped down the worktops after fixing up terence his meal. henrik had asked him to pull together some meals for terence, and pegasus being pegasus done it with no questioned asked. it wasn’t his business, but his brother asked him and that’s all he needed. logically speaking, pegasus gathered the real reasoning behind the request and meal plans, but again, it wasn’t his business and he wasn’t going to go digging and making terence uncomfortable. “other meals won’t be as soup based but they won’t be heavy either, henrik asked me to keep meals light enough that you wouldn’t feel exhausted or ill after them. you need anything else, just let me know, yeah? consider my number as a back up if you can’t reach henrik”
