I have the first one off YT but I'm not sure. They keep starting them there and then disappearing them to some paid platform that I have 50% of the time.

After all, what is faith? Is it the Church, doctrine and rules and the quid pro quo of checking all the boxes to claim one's reward at the end? Is it raging and questioning what seems like cruel and callous fate, accepting that there is something there to rage against? Is it trading connection with man for connection with God? Is it sitting in the still silence listening to one's heart? Is it sacrifice or embrace? A way to navigate the world or a place to flee from it? To be fair I don't think this show is trying to get to an 'answer' inasmuch as it wants to ponder the question. After all, faith is such a personal thing. Tanrak believes (or I think maybe more hopes?) his parents are with God, waiting for him. Barth believes God either hates him or doesn't care, but he still believes. Father Arnon believes God is watching and listening. Master Phak believes God is a safe place, a refuge from the disappointments of the world. I think Joe's view is the closest to the show's thesis: don't run from faith, but also don't use it to run from life.

The question of who is being ordained that kicks off the story, while it's a good hook, I think is also going to tell us where the show lands on the issue of faith. Will it be Tanrak? I haven't ruled it out (we haven't yet been shown anybody else who is 'important' enough to Barth to return to Magdalene after all this time), but it feels unlikely. We don't have any other underpinning for his faith beyond grief, wouldn't we need more? Kongdech? On the path he's on, that would have happened years before. Master Phak? Perhaps? The Church does have a tradition of mature seminarians, as much as they're not the norm. Joe? Again, that feels like something that would have happened years before. Total left field option: Cherry and Phai's son? Would be a major fake out but Aof is not immune to those. Casting Cherry as the Virgin Mary and giving her a Joseph could have been a subtle hint.
