Sakumo killed Sasori's parents. In this AU, Chiyo wasnt there, nobody was there for him, the war was worse and he became an orphan on the streets. Sakumo learnt just a bit later that those shinobi had a son, and he felt so much guilt that he took the boy, brought him home and looked at him as his own child from then on.

(I know, all of this is very much impossible, not really logical considering everything but I really dont care. I just wanted Sakumo to take care of poor little Sasori.)
