           Smirk painted upon the child’s lips, the one stading right before his dark hues was no man or blind, it was noted he was playing the innocent. ❝ There’s no way I’m cruel and merciless…are your senses something you hold dear ? ❞ a titter briefly escaped from his lips. Those weren’t also words considered his as well ? ❝ You’re not blind      I can be YOUR eyes. ❞ both small hands held Etienne’s.

“ it’s disgusting. ”

          he narrowly avoids choking on the hot, bitter tea, & firmly pushes it away with the tips of his fingers.

“ i understand you’re not human, but I don’t see how even you can stomach this on a regular basis. ” & a hand signal is performed to have his own butler take over, at least serving him.

     HE CHUCKLES under his breath before taking a sip of his beverage. He does not look bothered by its bitterness at all. “I suppose my—stomach was designed to be stronger—than a human—one.” He cannot be sure, though. Which is only fair, since after centuries he still does not know why and how he is even there and in that form.

Her body didn’t move an inch the moment she noticed his movements, black eyes more fixated on following the metal shine of the blade rather than the almost threatening, but carefully planned distance that separated it from her neck. An hum left her, eventually detaching her gaze from the foil to place it onto its owner. What actually did strike her was discovering that he was blind—it gave a sense to “not having ever seen his own sword”, so she found herself to feel pleased about the fitting puzzle piece.      “I do see.” Karmina did not miss the reveal of his inhumanity—but she didn’t outrightedly address it because she was not shocked enough to. Consequently, she presumed he could understand that she was of the same kind; hence the lack of mention. “You must be very experienced with it,” she almost childishly commented, “I’ve always found swords… intriguing. Though I cannot see myself handling one.” (she never needed one, and probably never will. Claw-like hands worked just as nicely.)      As her head tilted to the side, partially to slide her neck slightly away from the sharp sword, Karmina kept her gaze on the other, evidently curious. Other than the supernatural nature, she could easily feel that this man had a sort of charm she knew quite well—the kind of trait that is pefect to lure in a prey. She would’ve been a fool to not recognize a characteristic she had been donning since the very start.      “Hmmm.” instead of saying anything, however, she kept silence. As it usually happened when she wanted to examine something very accurately.

     SHE DID not seem to be impressed by the sudden threat, and it pleased him. He enjoyed people hard to scare more than those who trembled at the slightest sign of danger. Having tested her, he did not have a reason to keep his sword so close to her neck, thus he sheathed it, with a movement as quick and swift as the previous one. “I’ve had my—time to—practice.” Unspoken words ran just beneath their conversation. They were two predators circling each other, making each other understand they were quite the same yet never saying it openly. If she might be wondering whether he was a threat or not, though, Etienne did not. He already knew who was the strongest among them. He might be prideful, but right. His eyes shone in curiosity. “Ah? And what’s your—weapon of choice, if I—may ask?” She had one, she had to. He had never heard of a beast who did not.

     He felt her gaze on him, and all he did in reply was smiling. A smile which, for once, did not promise a certain downfall. He did not have any intention to be her ruin, at least not now, when he knew so little about her. Her not being human would not stop him from tainting her if he wanted to. He did not regret doing it to his own sister, after all. 

“Hmm.” hurting herself definitely was not one of her main concerns—although she did have an abnormally fragile skin, it did not stop her from caring little to not at all about the pain that came with injuries. For her, a greater worry was being seen as she was wounded. (And no further words are needed to explain why.) She leant slightly forward, to get a better look at the handle of the sword.      “Decades, you say?” she could sense an inhuman aura, so she wasn’t especially surprised. What struck her was another detail he mentioned ever so casually. “And… you’ve never seen it. Hah. That’s odd.” peculiar. How can you carry around with you something you don’t know the appearance of? There may be not much to a sword, but each blade is unique and different from another. How can there not be an ounce of curiosity?      Although she did want to try and touch the handle, Karmina couldn’t really bring herself to. In a way, deep down, she felt a little intimidated. Something to be admired, but not touched, she thought. “How? …And how could it betray you?”

     OH, SO she had not noticed yet. She was not really to blame, though, he had to grant her that; long, dark bangs covered most of his eyes, hiding his violet, empty pupils. Before giving her the answer she needed, though, he would make a clarification. “Centuries, if you—will. The decades are now too—many for me—to count.” He sensed an unnatural aura about her as well, so he guessed she would not be too shocked by his revelation. She might be ancient, just like him - but never older than him. 

     “It’s not as—odd as you think for a—blind man.” A slight movement of his head and his bangs opened like curtains, revealing his useless eyes. Gems to some; black holes in disguise in reality. “I can recognize it—by touch, though. That’s already—something.” He chuckled to herself, as if amused by his own joke. 

“… What about touching it because it seems sharp?” being the curious cat she was, undoubtly someone would tell her that curiosity would kill her, metaphorically speaking—but of course that mentality did not deter her in the slightest.      “Pardon my manners,” she courteously said. “I was simply wondering about the manifacturing.” blades weren’t a fixation of hers, but considering how many she’d seen and felt, it wasn’t a wonder she’d be wonderous.

     A SMILE accompanied his reply. “If you aren’t afraid of—hurting yourself, then—you’re welcome.” He slightly turned to offer his side to the woman, although the subject of his attention had shifted as soon as she spoke. Sins weighed on her voice - he heard them well. One more reason to start a conversation; he had the feeling he would not be disappointed.

        ❝ Is that so     ? ❞ he could not murder him, not entirely, this idea was quickly discarted, but he could torture. ❝ what about… you give me your         SENSES  ?  ❞
