The point is that by saying you should always stay true to yourself, we mean that your personal happiness is more important than other peoples approval or disapproval. Whatever you try, you’ll run into people who will try to force their own opinions on you, but if they can have one and be secure in it, so can you. Be true to yourself by keeping the things you love close and being willing to learn about other perspectives without necessarily adapting to them or letting them dictate how you live.

Love takes practice. You won’t always get it right on the first try. You’ll love too hard and trip over your own feet. You’ll love too quietly and they won’t hear you. You’ll love just right and they won’t appreciate it. But you’ll never stop loving, and you’ll grow in your understanding of love until it fits just right. And one day someone will see you and be so happy to practice loving with you, it will all be worth it.

I want to be one of those people that can find the beauty in everything. like how the sky belongs to a watercolour painting during sunrise or the inherent romanticism of walking down cobbled streets, sipping a warm drink at a cafe or the smell of books, new and old, that fill a library. the way each season comes with a feeling I can’t describe other than by saying it feels like the earth’s way of announcing it’s ever changing nature. or the way the smallest act of kindness from a stranger can make your day just a little bit brighter and you will remember that feeling for years to come. or how even on days when the sky is grey and the world seems crowded with shadows there’s still good things and good people. there’s little rays of light you can find anywhere if you search hard enough. and I hope that one day I will be able to find them everywhere.
