This was like our 20th trip into or out of Big Sur this summer. We read recently that the "Bixby" bridge was in fact called the "Rainbow Bridge" when it first opened. WTF. From this point forward we are refering to it by its original (and appropriate) name. Rainbow bridge!

We really love this beach because you can have a fire on the beach (Untill 11pm) This helps with cooking on the way south,so much nicer to cook over coals then stove.

After Popi fired up the fire I looked over and got all excited, there was a fire somewhere! These 2 firetruck rolled up. Popi thought maybe someone was drowning as this beach is known for that.

So these 4 firefighter get out and start running down the beach toward us. Popi was a little confused as they got closer it appeared that they had a huge fire extinguisher with them!

HAHAHAHAHA, Imagine their surprise when they finally got over to the "Fire" and found me and Popi cooking steak!

Someone had called 911 on us or some shit.

So here is the best part,the firefighters,all out of breath say to Popi "Are you allowed to have a fire on this beach?!?"

Popi looks them straight in the eye and said" yeah,you ran right past the sign" WTF. So come to find out that fire crew was new or something and they had no clue that it was legal,so they left us with a smile and a chuckle.

We went to our favorite beach on the way south and found these weird poles left over from a beach wedding. People leave some weird shit on the beach.
