you caused great commotion in mikage-cho due to your fragile self, splitting in three shadows (aki, mai and ideal maki) so you are dealing with a lot of guilt because of this.

your best friend chisato actually hated you all along, you forgave her but it can weigh on you from time to time.

oh! owain loves games! a strange request, though, as he was expecting that he was going to have to carry her home or something menial like that. too bad he’s never heard of this particular game until now. “ah, yes! the famed pocky game! the pocky game played on pocky day! of course i know what that is!” his nervous smile gives away that he’s definitely lying, no matter how loudly and confidently he says otherwise.

“…ugh, no i don’t. i’d be happy to indulge after receiving such a life-altering gift, but…”

“a divine gift for me…? i shouldn’t, but…! m-my hand! it’s moving on its own!” in reality, he’s just reaching out for the cookies n’ cream box. no weird hand shenanigans going on besides his own curiosity.

he opens the packaging with shaky fingers, slowly bringing a stick to his lips… before stuffing it down in a flash! “th-this is amazing! however can i repay you, fair lady?”

“It’s fine, it’s just pocky.” What a funny way of expressing himself, she couldn’t help but chuckle at his words. He seemed very interested in it so why not let him indulge in the festivities of the day? “Repay me? That’s quite a bit of responsibility, I must handle your fate with utter care! Let’s see, why not play the pocky game with me?” After this, she winks and sticks her tongue out. She couldn’t force anyone to do such a thing with her, though she was curious due to never experiencing it before. 

     “Nmpho phroblem!”

In goes another one. Twenty-one and counting!

“an entire day dedicated to ‘pocky’… what a wondrous tradition!”

“er, i have no idea what that is.”

     “Mmmfph.”

She has twenty pocky sticks in her mouth. She’s not a coward.

         “Don’t just stand there! Can you fight or what?!” Words harsh, inconsiderate and panicked, he quickly throws himself in front of the other. The teen was fine, just exhausted from throwing punches at things that wouldn’t just stay down. And to be honest, he feels his vision straining – looking through the fog without glasses was starting to take a toll on him. While he didn’t take Teddie’s creations for granted – ah, what is he thinking, he definitely took them for granted. Either way, he’s stuck here without them and completely agitated, a creeping migraine pronouncing itself with every single punch that lands. 

         Raising his steel plate to brace for a gnarly snap from the ravenous beast before them, Kanji winces as the creature throws itself against the plate instead. His weight shifts backwards as the heels of his boots dig into the rubble. Growing impatient as it continues to snarl and fling drool as it knocks its snout repeatedly against steel, he looks over his shoulder towards the other.

         “Well @paveillon​ ?!” 

“That’s a little rude, don’t you think? I’m a very capable girl!” Immediately replying to his rude remark, she only focuses on her hurt pride rather than an attack that didn’t seem to be. His struggle was real, the way he looked troubled and fighting back something with a greater force. Somehow, it was like she was being protected but from what exactly? 

In a moment of impulsivity, Maki reaches out for his wrist and attempts pulling him away from the fight. She’s persistent and doesn’t particularly feel anything pushing them, so this couldn’t be that much of a dangerous move.  

“I don’t have offensive attacks so stop it already!” 

“I-- I am so sorry! I thought you were one of those transit people!” With all that yellow -- how rude of her! Even more, how embarrassing! Had her stays in the hospital dulled her social skills? She could almost curl into a ball and hope to disappear. 

“No matter where I look, there’s really no way out. Is this common? Getting brought to another world? Almost feels like those popular manga...” Maki is a bit concerned with good reason, she shouldn’t be here under any means. After all the trouble she caused back home, this can’t be happening. 

“RIGHT?! SO HOW CAN YOU REFUSE-”

“W…WA…WAIT, WAIT, WAIT A SEC- how the HECK do you know about Personas!?” 

“Huh, is it that strange? I don’t recall having a Persona was part of being a secret group, hehehe.”

“Gals, guys, everyone in between, everyone out-tween, not of this universe, maybe a Persona–”

maki sonomura ✧ persona

persona 1? i don’t know her

your true persona senpai! the origin, the legend, the one and only 

the main plot revolves around maki, whose psyche interferes with the DEVA system created by Kandori, awakens a divided mikage-cho. a dark and light side that harbour demons and put in danger everyone in the town. this was due to the fact her imaginary world was brought into reality thanks to the DEVA system.

while she did not play persona with her classmates, she already has a persona upon joining the main party. however, she had already been split in several parts as ideal maki, aki and mai. 

ideal maki, aki and mai could be considered the first incarnation of shadows. besides the protagonist, nobody else faced this part of themselves in the game.

personas were granted by philemon directly, the only ritual that implicated was the mysterious game ‘persona’ where you called upon it. it was very much a game like bloody marie.

maki was quite ill and envied those that had a normal life, she missed a lot of classes. thankfully, she was cured at the end of the game. 

an only child, she lost her father early and depended on her mother only. She works at SEBEC.

she is quite good at painting, having won some contests from school! 

one of her best friends is chisato, who became a main enemy in the game due to her jeaously toward maki. maki forgave her, regardless.

maki’s main demeanour is based around her ‘ideal’ version, since she was finally able to accept herself fully.

she has a huge crush on the protagonist/boy with the earring!

in the manga, she is childhood friends with him. as they grew up, they became a tad distant. the events of persona made them grow closer.
