Four Catrinas in a row - Juniper carvings. The large one on the right has quite a few inclusions of dry rot within the log. Had to do some fancy footwork to keep it from catastrophic failure when carving... super careful. Love the way she turned out, though. The natural voids from decay add to the vibe.

Ribs are showing - Catrinas 1, 2 and 3 showing cleavage. Three of Ten in Juniper. Natural finish is Danish Oil. I like the chisel facets in the light. 

A Wild Sighting - Linda came home from Montana to a new Door Knocker. Great to see it installed! Only two more left - one Brass, one polished Aluminum.

Here’s my first “Time-Lapse” of any sort. I picked up an iPhone attachment for my tripod - really simple stuff. I think it may be a great way to show the long carving process online. I’m using Danish Oil on the Juniper carving. Should give a nice mellow satin finish when dry.

The “I Pity You Cuz You’re Going To Hell” Look. - I’ve gotten this look from many a church lady in my family. I’ve been judged by the best, and passed the test. 

Magic Bullet 15 can be found at the River House in Capon Bridge WV - An Art Gallery and Restaurant that really seems to be a community hub! Place was packed for a live performance last night. Doing great things!

Great patina on this old Case tractor tucked behind a shed in North River Mills, WV. She had new plugs and fresh grease, so I assume she’s running. 

Catrina gets her ribs - Finalizing the details on the 32 inch Catrina in Juniper. Second of Ten carvings.

I smell like Cedar. Second Catrina in the works. The proportion is different, probably closer to reality. I’m going to trim down the jaw line. This one is around 32 inches tall, the smaller is 22 inches.
