Multicoloured drawing ink with washing up liquid in a petri dish under the microscope. I think the bubbles look really interesting, kind of spaceship-like?

And sparkly nail varnish under the microscope. Loved the hexagonal glitter particles...

I am going to apply these to different 'mock' products to see how they look :)

An inverted versions of my watercolour washes. I think these are really effective, can't wait to use them for my pattern designs.

More continual line drawings I did whilst looking down the eyepiece of my microscope. I like how these have turned out kind of loose and free-form, I'm planning to use elements of them to add detail to my patterns.

Another pattern made from my sketchbook drawings. I like the colours in this one and the white line against the colour. Thinking of making some more patterns using this 'inverted' line effect.

Some 'folded in half' watercolour was experiments. I'm planning to use these as an element of my pattern designs and change the colours to create some interesting abstracted effects.

More experimental pattern making using drawings from my sketchbook. Made this one by copy/pasting the shape and changing the hues and composition to create a repeat pattern.

Playing about on Photoshop using the drawings and shapes I have been experimenting with in my sketchbook. I quite like the 'mirrored' effect in some of the Timorous Beasties designs so have taken inspiration from them.

I came across these patterns on the Timorous Beasties website and think they are a great inspiration for colour and composition. I really like the inky and layered effects of these designs.

I plan to develop these bots and pieces in Photoshop to come up with some repear pattern designs.

I plan to create some interesting pattern designs by combining drawn elements with some of my microscope lens photography.

Some experimental image making from my sketchbook. Using ink, pen, paint and collaged elements from my own photographs and photocopies I created these little forms based on the structure of atoms and cells.

Further experimental photography through the lens of my microscope. I put a sample of crisps (ready salted) under the lens, which reulted in these interesting (and slightly offputting) images :) I think the grease from the samples made quite abstract and interesting patterns.
