Hi! Your Scarlet Club is absolutely stunniiiiing and I'd love to use it in my town, but the lot just won't load. I grab it from the bin in game and I try to put it down to town, but it just loads and loads and after 20mins I give up and gotta exit the game via task manager. I have all expansions except Into the Future and all SP's except Diesel, Sweet Treats and Fast Lane, and my game is patched to 1.67 if that's any help. Any idea why the lot won't load?

Alright, let’s see what we can do to fix this.
Personally, I hate the launcher, so I’ll always recommend installing everything in package format—it’s faster and more reliable. I’m not sure which format you used initially, but try installing it in the other one. And, of course, test it in a vanilla folder, with no mods or CC.
If it still doesn’t work, try this: you didn’t mention the mod I referenced in the original post, but if you don’t have it installed, give it a try. Its absence shouldn’t cause a crash like this, but you never know. If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s that The Sims 3 is a very unstable and unpredictable game—something that works perfectly today might stop working tomorrow.

Have you already decided what types of community lots will you place and how many? and how many role sim objects? imo many worlds place way too many late night community lots and i usually end up spending a lot of time deleting those lot. Also the festival lot is often something i have to edit a lot because creators for some reason love to place many of the same role sim object, especially the food booth in those

Yes, I already have around 95% of it planned, even if it might not be obvious at first glance. At this point, it’s mostly about bringing those ideas to life.
I actually keep a pretty detailed record of everything: lots, object count, Sims, role objects, minimum requirements for each rabbithole to function properly… I have quite a few lists and tables with all this information. It might be a bit over-organized, but I find that working this way helps avoid problems later on.
As I’ve mentioned before, Rossmere is heavily focused on nightlife, so there will be several bars and clubs. That said, everything is designed with intention and restraint (for example, one bar per lot). The same approach applies to other lot types: one food stall at the festival, one register in shops, one kitchen in restaurants, with only occasional exceptions.
Performance is also something I take into account throughout the entire process, so anything that could potentially cause issues will be adjusted before release.
Ultimately, every player has their own preferences and playstyle. What I’m sharing is my own vision of Rossmere, and once it’s in someone’s game, they’re always free to modify it to better suit their needs. In fact, I actually encourage it—I do the same with many creations I download: I give them my own personal touch and adapt them to fit my needs.

I was wondering if the Rossmere festival grounds are planned to change with each season, or if it'll stay the same year round? I think either way is great, I was just curious what your vision was for it.
I also wanted to ask if you plan on adding any additional festivity or activity lots, especially ones geared towards families with children or teen sims. Even something like a camping grounds or outdoorsy activity area would be really cute. I feel like that's one thing a lot of custom worlds tend to lack, so I thought i'd mention it as an idea.

Yes, the festival will change with each active season, of course. As the world continues to develop and reaches a more polished stage, I’ll be sharing screenshots of how Rossmere looks across the different seasons, along with a more in-depth look at the festival itself.
As for your other question, there will be a small camping area near the last beach I added, as well as plenty of activities designed for families. The world may feel quite empty right now, but don’t worry—your Sims definitely won’t get bored. I personally really enjoy family gameplay, and I know the community loves legacy playthroughs, so it’s something I always keep in mind throughout the process.
While Rossmere’s main focus is nightlife and celebrity life (similar to Bridgeport), I also want it to feel warm and lived-in—a place where you can follow the same household across generations, with plenty of activities and destinations to enjoy at every stage.

As you may remember, back in September I announced that I wouldn’t be continuing with early access. I knew that, due to personal reasons, I wouldn’t have much time or energy to create content in the following months, so I chose to prioritize Rossmere and put my Patreon on the back burner. Since I couldn’t give an exact return date, I preferred not to go into too much detail or make any promises.

I didn't know if that would effect performance or not, but thought it would be cute. Also, I've heard boat houses can cause lag. not 100% sure, but I just remember that being said years ago. I love that kind of neighborhood, but unfortunately I can’t implement a true cul-de-sac at this point.
Even after removing many objects, reducing the size of several lots, and deleting around a dozen of them, I’m still concerned about performance, and adding more elements isn’t really an option.
That said, there are already a couple of areas that, while not exactly cul-de-sac neighborhoods, have a similar layout and feel.
This one near the cliffs will be a very high–class family neighborhood, possibly even home to a celebrity or two, with luxurious houses in a wide variety of styles. Take a close look — it screams money everywhere!
And this one, located along what looks like a dead-end road, will be home to lower-income families, with more suburban-style houses.
It’s not exactly what you had in mind, but I think you’ll like it once you see it finished.
Right now it’s hard to picture, because everything is still unfinished, but in my head it all makes sense.
As you can see, the areas are clearly designated and each one will have its own distinct style, so I’m confident everyone will be able to find a home in Rossmere for their Sims — no matter what they’re like.

And regarding houseboats, you’re absolutely right — they do cause a lot of lag. At first, my idea was to place one occupied houseboat and another one (a yacht-type one in the private cove) left empty, but after thinking about performance, I’ve decided not to place any for now.
Well… I haven’t completely ruled out the yacht yet. 🫣
Later on, when around 90% of the builds are done, I’ll reassess it and see whether adding it would be a good idea. If I don’t decorate it too much and keep it unoccupied, it shouldn’t cause any issues. Honestly, I’d love to be able to include it.
And the one that’s already placed is a dance club, so since it’s a community lot, Sims shouldn’t move it to another port autonomously. If they do, simply locking the door so they can’t access the helm is enough to solve the issue.

I’ve finally managed to create a custom terrain paint using the same texture as the road sidewalks, so now everything blends together perfectly. You can’t imagine how satisfying it is to see everything in the same color.

I’m sure many of you have already noticed it: I’ve slightly adjusted the layout of some areas of the city, and now everything looks much cleaner, more organized, and more harmonious.

I added some rocky details to the hills so the landscape wouldn’t look so flat, and I absolutely love how it turned out. I can finally say I’m happy with how it looks.

As for builds, considering that I barely turned on my computer in December and only managed to work on them on a few scattered days in November, I haven’t made much progress. Still, if I have to choose, I’d rather focus on quality over quantity.

Yes, there’s a clear inspiration from Central Park—and yes, I know, it’s amazing.
I haven’t named the park yet, but it’s made up of three lots: the festival grounds, a café rabbit hole, and a playground. The fountain area isn’t a lot itself; it’s just decorative.

Continuing with the tour, this area was in need of a grocery store, so I decided to place it on this lot to take advantage of its large size. Integrating it into the building wasn’t easy, but I really like how it turned out:

Looking back, adding a building on top of this spa and restaurant rabbit hole was a great idea. I think it was the perfect way to integrate it into the area.

At first, I planned to build another rooftop club and restaurant, but The Eclipse is so impressive that I simply decided to place this one instead. Putting it right on the beachfront was absolutely the right call. Just look at those views!
