Celebrating my brother’s birthday at Red Robin.

Just in time for New Year’s Day, here are my Christmas gifts! My brother, sister-in-law, and niece gave me a big container of Chex, is a bit over half gone now, a gift card for Scramb’z, and a candle and car air freshener from the Magic Candle Company, which makes scented products themed to famous theme park attractions. Mine are called “Haunted”!

This week’s Scramblz breakfast: House Hash with banana lava cake (banana bread with blueberries and whipped cream) and hot chocolate!

First time back to Scrambl’z in a while. Based on suggestions by my Lady Jellicle, I got a Denver scramble (they didn’t have an omelette version) with campfire potatoes and a biscuit with gravy. Tasty!

Vacation report for Monday: We went to the Indianapolis Zoo! We got to see everything from lion fish, to penguins, to various primates, snakes, walruses, bears, rhinos, birds, and lions. My Lady Jellicle unfortunately got very worn out with all the walking. Still, we both had a good time.

Yesterday, I picked up my Lady Jellicle, and on our way down, we stopped at a little place called the Country Cafe for a couple of great breakfast skillets. After getting settled in, and relaxing a bit, we had dinner at Cracker Barrel. At her suggestion, we had an order of fried pickles as an appetizer. She had chicken and dumplings, while I went with meatloaf. A nice day over all.

Arrived safely, got my car, and checked in yesterday, but was tired and didn’t post at that time. I’ll be picking up my Lady Jellicle and we will get some brunch, do a little shopping, and get settled in.

I haven’t been posting about retro cartoons lately. I think I’m a bit burnt out, so I’m going to focus on retro science fiction for a bit. This week’s series is Space: Above & Beyond. I like how it attempts a more realistic view of space flight and combat.

Looking for advice regarding renting a car. Not so much about best price, but recommendations to best car size, which company has the best features in their cars, and so forth.
