Rainy day
lullaby from the mountaintop
psa: the artist known as @briclynforest on twitter, a prominent member of the animal crossing community, has been outed as a virulent homophobe hiding under the guise of traditional values, as well as scamming people out of real currency for her animal crossing “services”. I don’t know what her handle is here on tumblr, but I’ve definitely seen her posts circulating. Not the OP, but the allegations have been addressed here. https://mobile.twitter.com/Anxiety2_0/status/1252458521041330176 I would suggest blocking her and moving on. I am not advocating for hate being directed at her, but I am simply informing people as lgbt creators may not want to interact with her work. Thank you.
reblogging to add that i’ve also been informed that her tumblr is also @briclynforest.
i wonder what secrets lay on this abandoned island?

ok, this might be a bit of a controversial ACNH take but...
i don’t understand why people feel the need to charge bells/NMT in order for people to come visit their island when celeste is there/a villager is crafting/there’s cool stuff at the shops??
don’t get me wrong, i COMPLETELY get where people are coming from when it comes to turnip selling. it’s only fair to leave some kind of tip when you’re walking away with a million bells and taking up a fair amount of someone’s time when they have other people queued up to sell turnips.
but charging 25k bells just for me to come buy some roses or to quickly talk to celeste? for a simple item or diy recipe? that seems a little… i don’t know, not in the spirit of the game? to me, animal crossing is all about sharing when you’re able and helping out people if they’re looking for something to add to their own island. like, some people may not have the bells to gain entry to your island! what if that player is young and they want to visit people’s islands to shop around and have some fun, but to their dismay they don’t have enough NMT to get in?
yeah, sure, letting a bunch of people in to talk to celeste or shop or craft takes up a lot of time too, but you’re not walking away with a HUGE profit of millions and millions of bells. it’s just a recipe, or a shopping trip. visiting other people’s islands is supposed to be FUN. it’s fine to ask for tips if other players are ABLE to give them, but making them required for entry just seems kinda whack to me.
it just makes me really sad that a good portion of the fun, spirit, and accessibility of animal crossing can be taken away by people who ask for entry fees for EVERYTHING.
in the end, animal crossing is a video game franchise about catching bugs with cute talking animals and whose target demographic is young children. you don’t have to take everything so damn seriously.
i find this strange too. i also don’t understand people’s ~complete distrust~ of you when you go to trade with them. i’ve had sooo many people that don’t even let me out of their sight when i go to their island. i’m like, man, don’t you want people to see your hard work? isn’t that partially the point? i always tell people if they want to use my shops or explore my island, they’re welcome to. what annoys me most is the people that literally just fence off their island to trade. like the worst someone can do is pick some flowers or fruits, which grow back. personally i’m not really concerned over my digital fruit or flowers and actually tell people they can take them if they want. to each their own i suppose.
does anyone have an extra diy recipe for the ironwood dresser? i need one so bad
has anyone gotten their golden balloon yet? i hit 300 balloons last night but still havent seen it.
gonna sleep out in the yard and look up at the stars
