It would appear despite the detractors believing something would have prevented the UFC fight of the White House last night, it went spectacularly well logistically at least.. The bad weather held off, the visuals of the Patriotic scenes were there with red white and blue and fireworks, and the president in his blue suit standing next to Dana White. For better or worse, the show went off without a hitch. There's a few controversial matters but the idea that the UFC was having a live match on the White House lawn would have been shocking to the senses 10 years ago but now feels kind of perfect. It symbolizes a lot more than we even know. And listen, while some may say the entire thing should not have even happened it did but if there's something that seemed to be wrong to me it was military personnel saluting UFC fighters as they walked out of the White House towards the rain. I don't think there was any need for the military to salute them, although they were probably saluting the other heroes walking the UFC fighters to the stage?
