Ever since I saw RFAP I stumbled into a world of TF2 animation I didn't knew I needed. I watched series, shorts, ships and whatnot, and I've been missing on so much good content because I thought it was some Filmaker Shitpost or something like that. Damn past me...
I started looking for TF2 Kissing gifts because I found them cute and relaxing. And now I am mourning the cancelation of DW vs TK vs CBS. And since I am the only one in my neiborhood that knows what TF2 is and I at the very least want to talk about it, there's a list of series I've seen, what are my thoughts on those, and this Is also me asking for series reccomendations. I. NEED. MORE.
Requiem For A Pizza: This had so many things happening at once, and I could barely understand what was going on. Notice that I knew very little of TF2 and I was there just for the gays. I rewatch it several times because there's always something new to see. And it's overwhelming, in the good sense of the word. The first time was a "Wtf am I see- THE KISS OMG THEY ARE SO CU- Wtf Spy?" And so on. I enjoyed it, and it send me into the rabbit hole.
Serverblight: How did I go from gays to body horror? Simple: A youtuber narrator I follow was, well, narrating this series. I didn't look at it at first, but after seeing the miniatures I said "Wait a sec this is TF2?! Lemme see" and oh boy. That's when I lost it. I saw it narrated by him, then saw it for myself. It still gave me chills. The part where the virus chases the BLU Spy in "Assimilation"? That's the moment I fell in love with the character. I felt its fear WAY MORE than with the human playing it (not a bad thing, just me loving animation More than live action). I haven't watched "Manipulator" yet because, honestly, I didn't knew it was out π . Missed the notification. But I am planning to. Hell yeha.
Don't Join Team Red: The same youtuber narrator had this one too π. So watched it there, watched it alone, and since then I look at RED with π€¨ all the time I read fics. I have come to adore the concept of body horror with the characters models all wrong and mutated. The story is peak, the little jokes here and there are peak (you guys it's the end of the world and are discussing a tank's gender???), and, most importantly: SPY IS ACTUALLY A DAD TO SCOUT! I cried with their reunion, of how even if he's changed so much, Spy still sees Scout as he was before. And I see myself cheering for all the background clones like a maniac even if I know they won't survive. I'll keep crying and enjoying it.
Painis Cupcakes Analog Horror: Same as the two above. I'm a terror enthusiast Β―β \β _β (β γβ )β _β /β Β―. Though this is more gore than terror. It was my introduction to Freak Fortress, and of course to β¨Christian Brutal Sniperβ¨. Turns out the series is a more serious take on a goofy concept. But I like it. Doing this I found out there's another chapter out, so added to my list of watches.
Emesis Blue & Spy's Disguise: You guessed it. Saw them narrated, saw them by myself. And Emesis Blue it's the most impressive anti-drugs ad ever. Aside from that, the breakdown of the character's mental health, the betrayals, the loses, and the ending. Spy's Disguise is also an allegory of those who loose themselves trying to be something else, or trying to fit in a role not meant for them, only to pay it with their own life. I put them together because they are very much related. Dr. Fritz is the one who attends the Spy. So it's almost a series. I am SO HYPED for FortressFilms Murder.Inc, I hope it gives us answers, breaks the cycle or at least show us another tragic hero with an Alter Ego.
The Scratched Universe: I never knew I needed this mix in my life. And now I watch Blackimus channel every day to see if Episode 7 has dropped yet. Mixing my newest hyperfixation with JoJo's, an old hyperfixation, and aliens is a cinema on it's own. I love the worldbuilding, the characters, the bits of terror. It's my favorite series out of all I have watched. I love KIA so much. I also hope Spy! Dio comes back. I am hyped for the Homunculus comeback and to see more of my silly Scouts and everyone else.
The Scratched Universe: Capsters: Same universe, different vibes. Reminds me of Requiem For A Pizza but organized and with a clear storyline. Also, pocket monsters media is always good. And also, BEANIE!!! I LOVE THIS SILLY DILLY MAN AND HIS DRAGON SO MUCH! I know it will be years before I see them again but I can wait. A good series to spend a good while in laughs.
The RED, the BLU and the ugly: I found it very enjoyable. It's short, but good. Has some good jokes in it. In truth It's not been in me to rewatch it to see more, but also waiting for the third/final chapter to drop. (This and Emesis Blue made me ship Freedom Fries)
DW vs TK vs CBS: I was looking for Freak Fortress content that was more serious than Freak Battles and that kind of stuff. It's not my vibe, nothing against them. And stumbled on this magnificent series that GOT DISCONTINUED. I enjoyed the Christians dynamics and was creating my own theories about it all. Then I see there's no been a Chapter 5 in "Ohhhh~ 12 long years since I have seen my wife". And I was left with crumbs. At least that served me for inspiration for a Freak Universe in my head. But anyways, peak series, died too soon.
Bad Sniper/Bad Day: Serverblight made me love Spy, Emesis Blue made me love Medic. This made me love Sniper. I also cried when the mentor died, and rooted for him to become a good shooter. And was very pleasantly surprised to see bits of SniperScout romance. The series that followed Is equally as exciting. I hope the lovebirds can get out of all this mess alive (they haven't kissed yet so they CANNOT DIE)
Once upon a time in 2fort/Ghosts of the past: It was... An experience for me. It's a tale of broken people making very bad decisions based on trauma, vengeance and power trips. I couldn't connect with any of the characters because I was screaming: "YOU IDIOT DON'T DO THAT-!!!" to my screen all the time. I felt bad for most of them, and felt kinda empty too when everything ended. Luckily, the ones who didn't put on the helmet continued with their lifes.
The Magnificent Nine: This was another experience... For other reasons. I haven't seen the full film yet (thing to do number 3) and I hope it answers some of my questions as to why... It Is called The Magnificent 9 if the only magnificent ones where Heavy, Scout, Medic, Spy, and maybe Demo and Engineer. The other's tagged along the magnificency? But there's a very good thing that balances this. The very-not-subtle Gentlesurgery. I only rewatch their scenes in the episodes, my dear shaylas. They needed to get an American Styled Wedding at the end.
Maybe I missed some other series, I don't recall. But that has been my experience. Maybe I'll talk to the detail of each of them. Someday.
