THE PIERROT.

nanami was beginning to think gojo was trying to rope him into actually becoming a teacher. more often, he was called to oversee his students. if he was going to be doing all this labor babysitting, he might as well be getting paid for it. he taps his foot and checks his watch, waiting for the train. 

‘ no. i’m a grade 1 sorcerer. but rather than overseeing, you’ll be shadowing me today. if all goes well, you won’t actually have to do anything. so just follow my instructions, alright ? ‘  

   he sits on the hood of Ijichi’s car, swinging his legs absently as he waits. “ we should tell the others where we’re going for dinner, after. ” he thinks of savory steaks and mashed potatoes, not the same as home but ... good enough for his homesick stomach. besides, his mother could supplement it later. “ i think we could get gojo-sensei to pay. ”

   there is something difficult about these conversations. awkward small talk was always a strong suit, but he felt vulnerable in a way, like he was standing before a trial. how strange. “ you seem concerned, kaedehara kazuha. ” casual, polite. he’s trying to shake the feeling off. perhaps, it was beidou that shrouded his usual straightforwardness. “ is it the weather ?  or something more ? ”

   he thinks the man is nothing more than another lackey, an exorcist that is seemingly ... trapped in this elaborate dance. allen holds very little pity for them, at least on the initial surface. he clears his throat, forcing his polite, disarming smile. “ you are ... another teacher ?  i was told you’d be overseeing things, today. ” they’d never let him do things alone.
