❤︎ lee is an early bird. he’s usually awake before sunrise , using those quiet hours of the early morning very productively to meditate or train himself.

❤︎ goes to bed fairly early. very strict sleep schedule unless under special circumstances.

❤︎ a bit of a neat freak. his room is spotless and everything is always put away into its rightful place. from his weights down to his neatly folded laundry.

❤︎ rock lee is exceptionally hygienic !! he treats his body with the same discipline and respect he applies to training. to lee , maintaining good physical ( as well as mental ) health is just an extension of his deep dedication to being a shinobi. a good to your body and it shall treat you well. he bathes regularly before and after training , keeping his hair , nails , and equipment impeccably clean. he firmly believes the body is a temple and one that deserves constant care and gratitude. he is sure to eat all kinds of balanced meals , stay very hydrated , stretches before && after working out / training , and rarely ever neglects his sleep.

❤︎ huge sentimentalist. every gift , card , and letter ever received is kept somewhere special. the thought of someone thinking of him enough to give a gift especially tailored to his liking is enough to make him emotional.

❤︎ incredibly punctual or entirely too early for events. being late is not an option for lee !

❤︎ he is very in tune with his emotions and not afraid to show it !! he tends to be very emotionally invested in other people’s successes , if his friend has suddenly met a personal milestone in life , he’s just as happy if not happier then they are. he sobs at heart felt stories without any remorse or embarrassment as tears are just another way of sincere human expression rather than a sign of weakness in his eyes.

❤︎ not typically the type to hold grudges. if someone is willing to sincerely apologize and puts forth the effort to change , who is he to deny them his forgiveness?

❤︎ worlds worst liar. his facial expressions are always a dead give away. he tends to avoid head-on eye contact when he’s straight up lying. he doesn’t typically lie without reason. ex ; keeping a surprise party from a friend.

❤︎ naturally a heavy-handed , sometimes it’s like he doesn’t even know his own strength. a simple pat on the back with just a bit too much enthusiasm could mildly hurt person receiving his strong affection.

❤︎ not one for any kind of strong swearing or cursing , he just prefers not to. lee isn't innocent or ignorant to the concept of cursing , it simply just isn’t anything hes ever felt the need to do or implement into his vocabulary. he finds it crude and disrespectful; he can be just as expressive and get his point across all the same without the use of vulgarity. though that doesn’t mean he has issues with those who do happen to swear , it’s just not for him.

❤︎ lee has an egregiously large appetite to compensate for how much energy he burns up constantly. he can easily chow down several bowls of food and have room for even more.

❤︎ always a man of his word ! if lee makes a promise , he will move the heavens and the earth to keep it. to him , his word is inseparable from his honor.

❤︎ children love lee , naturally they seem to flock to his cheerful spirit and view him as an older brother or father like figure as he gets older.

❤︎ nicely tanned , but his tan lines are very odd and strongly defined from his clothing and the placement of his bandage wraps. meaning his face , upper arms ( depending on what he’s wearing ) , toes , and the tips of his fingers are the only parts of him quite tanned / exposed to the sun.

umelee headcanons

❤︎ totally flustered anytime ume genuinly reciprocates his endless affection. he can confidently confess his undying love of a thousand suns with ease , but the moment she pulls him in for a quick kiss on the cheek , he’s wide eyed , flushed , and sputtering. though a kiss like that would be saved for when it’s just the two of them. ume can only be so physically affectionate behind closed doors , away from prying eyes.

❤︎ lee is the only person besides enejima , ume will willingly initiate any kind of physical affection with. she shows affection like a cat ; only when she wants to , which isn’t very often. though she can’t do too much , he feels oh so lucky from something as simple as her hooking her pinkie in his as they walk.

❤︎ gai was the first to find out about their relationship within less than a month of being together. of course , lee tried his best to be desecrate , but I imagine he totally gave himself away asking him hyper-specific questions regarding relationship advice , help with women , and so on.

❤︎ lee is a heavy sleeper; no snoring , no excessive movement , just faint breathing and a limp tangle of limbs. when he’s out , he’s out. ume is also a very heavy sleeper , only difference being she snores like freight train and tends to frantically toss and turn in her sleep. regardless , the two somehow sleep together cohesively and enjoy cuddling. lee prefers being big spoon l

❤︎ loves being involved and participating in ume’s interests and hobbies. whatever she likes , he loves , and wants to be apart of whatever brings her joy! ume has taken a big interest in gardening during her adult life and lee has done nothing but help this hobby flourish to the best of his ability !! he buys seeds , small potted plants , and such to help grow her garden.

❤︎ lee is no stranger to using nicknames , he is a hopeless romantic with a love that knows no bounds when it comes to ume. he uses many floral motifs when referring to her; petnames like "my lotus" or “my flower” are a easy common go-to. he’d use more common petnames like , “my dear/dearest” , “my love” , “angel” or just her name in an extremely sappy and lovey tone. he’s always so unapologeticly cheesy with her.

❤︎ the two have began to subconsciously mimic and pick up each others behaviors. instead of sleeping in , sometimes ume will wake up early and start off her day being productive; stretching a bit or actually showing up to train on time under his influence. lee on the other hand has picked up on some of her more bad behaviors. lee has discovered the joy of afternoon naps and slacking off just a bit on the weekends all thanks to ume. she jokingly calls him lazy to which he insists he’s not. ume is his worst influence.

❤︎ ume’s favorite kind of dates are the most simplistic ones. a quiet picnic , staying at home and cuddling up together , while lee insists on taking her somewhere nice like a restaurant or cafe.

❤︎ he physically cannot lie or keep anything from ume. no matter how hard lee tries , the truth spills from him one way or another. he always tells on himself somehow , especially when it comes to her. not that he keeps stuff from her in the first place , rock lee is a very open book with his partner. always.

❤︎ ume snorts uncontrollably when she gets to laughing hard enough , unfortunately for her , lee has witnessed it first hand. she’s threatened him to mention it to no one. ever. she’s so #embarrassed !!! stawwp

❤︎ genuinely has no idea why ume thinks she’s unattractive. it confuses him. maybe he’s totally biased , but sometimes he wishes , just for a day , he could lend her his eyes and let her see herself from his point of view.

❤︎ ume's favorite thing about lee is his utter commitment to discipline. she’s admires the kind of life he leads , she knows she could never live the way he does , but she admires and respects just how deeply he devotes himself to achieving his goals. that and his fat eyebrows — his eyebrows are easily her favorite physical trait about him , they’re so cute and so is he !!

❤︎ she sorta envies just how easily he’s able to connect and form bonds with other people. how he’s able to strike up conversations with complete strangers and encourage them like a strange super power. how does he not feel weird or awkward about it? she finds its weirdly endearing..? but more so weird. lee is a social weirdo.

* age is a bit finicky when just like everyone else , she ages through out the different parts of the naruto series , her age is totally dependent scenario , event , and such , but for the sake of this post I will say she and her brother are young adults.

✶　　PHYSICAL　EXAM

eyes.　　　　　　 sharp , wide , dark eyes ; always observing and people watching..

hair.　　　　　　 long , dark , spiked hair , well kept and maintained for the most part. loosely tied away in the back.

beauty marks.　　hidden beneath the high collar of her jacket lies a small mole on the right side of her mouth. this mark is entirely unique to her as her brother has no similar features on his face.

body type.　　　 lean , athletic build , an almost “boyish” figure. ume's curves are quite subtle and paired with her more androgynous features leads to the common misconception that she is in fact a young man. something she absolutely hates for people to assume about her. can’t you see she’s just like any other woman , a delicate flower in bloom!

✶　　MENTAL　EVALUATION

character overview.　　　 ume has a bad habit of avoiding what she considers unnecessary effort wherever she can. if given the opportunity to skip training , she’ll usually take it with no second thoughts , disappearing before anyone can notice or finding creative excuses to get out of particularly exhausting exercises. while she most definitely possesses the talent and skill to be a capable kunoichi , she lacks the drive and competitive spirit that motivates many of her peers. she exploits every possible shortcut to avoid actually working. ume has no shame in misusing ninjutsu to her advantage if it means she gets more time to slack off by herself. rather it be deploying shadow clones to sit through her lectures , or other mostly harmless tricks to escape chores and tedious exercise.

part of her lazy demeanor stems from her naturally passive outlook on life , but it is also reinforced by years of feeling entirely disconnected from everyone around her. ume was born mute and has always struggled to communicate and relate to others , making teamwork and the typical social aspects of a kunoichi’s life feel 10x more draining than rewarding. rather than trying to push herself to over achieve and impress those around her to prove herself , she’s adopted a very strong indifferent mentality. despite her apparent apathy , she is far from incompetent.

relations.　　　　　　　　she keeps her social circle quite small , feeling indifferent or negatively towards most people she happens to cross paths with. there are very few she has a strong connection / formed opinions about ;

enejima uchiha　　　　　ume’s flesh and blood ; ume's twin brother. older by 20-30 minutes and almost inseparable from his sister ; wherever she lingers , he is not far behind. unfortunately , whatever kindness and basic human empathy he possesses exists solely within the confines of his relationship with his sister. beyond that , enejima is a cold , bitter , and profoundly hypocritical and cruel character. he holds high standards for ume and seems to spite any and everyone who takes romantic interest in her. ( rock lee ) he doesn’t believe any man ( or woman ) is worthy of being with his sister , yet he’s simultaneously actively perusing something with kiba inuzuka. he is a very special case.

rock lee　　　　　　　　hopelessly devoted boyfriend. besides eneji , rock lee seems to be the only other person she takes to fondly. the two are wrapped up in a closeted romantic relationship on her behalf. and keeping said relationship secret is perhaps the hardest part for him. lee can’t possibly begin to understand just as to why he has to hide the fact that they love each other , nor can he make any sense of why her brother would stand in the way of her happiness with him. nonetheless , he respects her wishes above all else as difficult as it is to bite his tongue and swallow his raging enthusiasm , he does the best he can for her sake. though that doesn’t mean he doesn’t try his absolute hardest to coordinate secluded date activities...

kiba inuzuka　　　　　　just so happens to be ume's least favorite person on the planet. she doesn't care much for him nor his four-legged furry friends. her issue lies with his foul odor and seeming lack of personal hygiene as well as his sudden interest in her brother. it doesn't take a genius to figure out they have brewing feelings for one another and she is less than pleased with the outcome. how her brother could pick kiba of all people is beyond her.

　dislikes.　extensive training , dogs / animals , kiba , being ignored / over looked , hot weather , bad hygiene , crowds.

✶　　NOTES　&&　EXTRAS　　　　　

　﹙　　the name ume roughly translates to “japanese plum” to which ironically , ume is not the biggest fan of. she deems them to be much too sweet and mushy for her liking. she is very particular about what she eats until its some kind of sleazy junk food she has no business eating.

　﹙　　her favorite food is dumplings !! and sweet dango

　﹙　　ume is deathly allergic to shellfish , and mildly allergic to dogs and their fur. giving her even more reason for her to dislike kiba. dog hair makes her sneeze , while ingesting any kind of shellfish will cause her face and throat to swell and puff up violently. she always knows when her brother has been off with kiba when he comes home because he’s littered in dog hair.

　﹙　　definitely a victim of cutting not only her own , but her brothers bangs when they were little. at least they have matching botched bangs , the poor little things. </3

　﹙　　slightly shorter than her twin brother.

　﹙　　ume absolutely adores the rain and water in general. she is an excellent swimmer and enjoys a nice dip every now and again , especially when its hot out or anytime there is a body of water available. huge fan of the hot springs and bath house !!! when it rains , she somehow always finds her way up onto the nearest rooftop to sit and think. somehow she rarely gets sick.

　﹙　　smells faintly earthy and sweet with some floral notes, more predominately of lotus and lavender ; her absolute favorites.

　﹙　　ume is extremely hygienic and takes great pride in her outward appearance and how people perceive her.

　﹙　　she and lee send letters back and forth in order to keep up with one another. with enejima hovering over her every step , it’s a bit hard to coordinate and go on dates with a boyfriend you’re not even supposed to have. within these letters , ume's writing is extremely sappy and lovey-dovey , totally unlike how she outwardly presents. she is somewhat okay with being open and vulnerable as the letters are for lee and his eyes only.

　﹙　　enejima and ume are somewhat dependent on each other to function. enejima is all ume has and vise versa , they cannot imagine their lives without one another. that being said ,, this does not mean they don’t have their differences and fair arguments from time to time. they function as a team in order to take care of one another and ensure safety and stability. for example ; enejima fills the gap of cooking and taking care of groceries since ume can’t seem to cook to save her life , while she takes on other mundane tasks such as cleaning up after dinner and laundry. they have a sort of tag team system going on here.
