azune has a name that is from another language, and probably a dying one at that. he has lived away from his culture for so long that he has simply adapted to hearing his name mispronounced. his people are scattered and forgotten, and had probably already been dwindling in the centuries since the last living dragon was seen. navika'an is not widely known. so he simply allows for mispronunciations, and keeps the real way it's said to himself.

the inverse of this is tyranny, who was given a name in the common tongue despite being of na'ahavri. her father has a name of the pit, but he gave his daughters mortal names. their names are still evocative of their demonic origins to someone on aramán, but in a way that's more "accessible." she is the scary exotic pagan monstrosity being converted to the Light, after all. meanwhile, to demons she's an anomaly. it creates a sense of distance between tyranny and her home. she's not quite from aramán not quite from na'ahavri, and feeling torn between the two at every turn. torn between her purpose and her nature.
