Have you ever made a vampire oc before? now that you have a werewolf one with the drifter.
oh man, I've made a few over the years, my first vampire character was inspired by Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. I feel like as far as vampires, that was a formative influence for me. vampires as evolving, increasingly eldritch immortal creatures just, how can you top that? you can't. after that, vampires as "pale undead folks with pointy teeth who bite people's necks and suck their blood" just felt like a letdown, and as an aroace person, I never did get the eroticism of any of that, lmfao.
later I read Dracula by Bram Stoker and the fact that the guy could turn into a bat, a wolf, even mist. that's pretty sick. but of course, especially Dracula kind of began to define what a vampire is.
I feel like... vampires in folklore are far more interesting than pop culture vampires, but then, same could be said for a lot of monsters in horror media, they've just kind of morphed into something formulaic, like, yeah, you can tell at a glance whether a character is a vampire, werewolf, zombie, etc. etc.
anyway I ramble a lot. about 8 years ago I tried making a webcomic with a vampire character, his name is Count Anemia.
I was too ambitious for my own good with wanting to make a full color comic with zero dialogue. as you can probably tell, his design is based on mosquitoes, the humans in the setting are often snout folks but they can be cartoony and abstract in other ways, too.
incidentally, here's the first five pages of the unfinished comic:
maybe I'll revisit the comic sometime, maybe I won't, currently it's not a priority.
