I've been reusing a lot of materials from my old crafts lately. It's a nice way to "declutter" in a way, without having to fully part with them.

I recently made these two beetles: a stag beetle, and the other is more of a ground beetle. The materials are from a few decorative gourds that I previously made for autumn a few years ago. I also used other scrap material to make some new parts.

rest in peace little bee
i did not know you long, and you did not have a name. even if i only knew you for a night, ill remember you.
yesterday i found this little bee grounded in my backyard. i fed her some sugar water so she could regain her energy and return to her hive. usually this works, but to my surprise she was still there 30 minutes later.
i decided to try and warm her up, as that day was overcast and a bit chilly. i attempted to release her 30 minutes later, as shown in the video. she was unable to fly.
i decided to let her stay overnight with me. i walked around my yard and picked some flowers i had seen the honey bees visit, and dipped some qtips in sugar water for her to drink during her stay.
she passed away in the night, curled up in a soft cave of paper towels she had crawled into. even if im sad that i couldn't save her, im happy that her last moments were spent somewhere soft and warm, far from any worries a bee could have.
