Some of y’all really REALLY need to get past the idea that anime is somehow a completely separate media type and genre unto itself rather than just a style of animation. It’s bizarre how many of y’all use blanket statements about anime as if it’s a unique singularity and not just a different expression of the same art you already partake in. A lot of ppl have this kneejerk reaction to defend or attack ppl simply saying they watch anime. It’s one thing if you don’t like the specific stylizations that define anime, it’s another to say that that style alone determines the stories told in it. The issues you may or may not have with anime are largely indicative of the entertainment industry as a whole and not just animations specifically coming from Asia, or more accurately cartoons drawn in a certain way.
