Thinking about Dewey Dell Bundren from As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner and her lament of "he could do so much for me if he just would. He could do everything for me. He could fix it all right, if he just would" etc etc in regards to Dr. Peabody and how, because of the stream of consciousness narrative, it appears that she isn't just talking about her own situation; her lament could apply to anyone who's ever felt so powerless they just want to pour their strife into someone else's hands-- when you don't believe you have the strength nor right alignment of circumstances to alleviate it yourself.
