cut to 27 years later and the losers go back to the townhouse and decide to just order pizza cause they’re all too tired to go out and celebrate their win. and eddie, age 40 going on 41, still doesn’t eat his pizza crust. richie gives him his usual shit about it (“dude you’re 40 and you still don’t eat the crust? that’s adorable, eds!”) and so eddie goes “shut the fuck up rich do you want it or not?” and richie mimics zipping up his lips and throwing away the key and then makes grabby hands for the crust and eddie has to pretend he doesn’t find that shit adorable too cause richie’s fucking 40 damnit he’s not adorable and neither is eddie!! but it’s so easy to fall back into this routine, like no time has passed at all, eddie handing his crust over to richie as he finishes his own slices and richie can’t help but notice how eddie never gives his crust to anyone else, never has, even back when they were kids and big bill asked why eddie never shares with anyone else and eddie told him to mind his own business. him, big bill denbrough!! eddie wouldn’t even share with big bill! only richie! something about that still makes richie stomach swoop and his heart beat faster. god he’s so fucked.
