Moonttore and the similarities with Naberius / Shade of Life

Heretic Of the False Moon is Dottore with the power of the three moons, thus gaining the power of the four shades of Phanes and Phanes himself but.... I find it very curious that his design encompasses more of what was the design of Naberius: The Shade of Life that some kind of combination between the four shades (and Phanes...) But curiously Naberius monopolized it, both have blue arms with those strange veins, both have almost the same shape as the hair and Moonttore's cloak ends in the same way as Naberius's long locks, both have that white coat and Dottore's glitches are practically identical to Naberius's

For a moment I thought it made no sense that they looked so similar, but then someone pointed out that Naberius's powers are visually very similar to the technology of King Deshret

For now, June-26-2026, there is no real confirmation I'm just going by how they look visually blue/cyan colors, rhombuses, geometric and line patterns so if in the future there are direct connections between Naberius and King Deshret, I wouldn't be surprisedIf you don't know what King Deshret has to do with all this, there are many posts showing that he and Dottore have connections in this post is a very good one if you want to see it just click

But for now I find it interesting that they combined King Deshret's technology with a design similar to Naberios for Dottore considering that this was achieved thanks to the three moons and the moon itself is the oldest symbol of fertility (but we'll get to that later), I believe that Dottore represents the four shades, death, time, space and Phanes (reason) at the same time, but they were always subtle allusions and small references in my opinion, but then 6.X comes along and Dottore comes along cosplaying Naberius right in your face and.... why??

The Irminsul tree is like the tree of life

The Irminsul is the primordial and divine cosmic tree of Teyvat, It functions as the world's hard drive or central server, storing all the memories, history, and knowledge of humanity and nature through the ley lines (Naberius is connected to the ley lines of passage huhhuh) and the Irminsul is directly inspired by the concept of the Tree of Life and by real myths such as the Norse Yggdrasil and btw to aaaaadd trees are one of the most powerful symbols of fertility, abundance and creation... in human history In ancient times, nature and the ability to give life were directly intertwined, Let's remember that Datattore infiltrated him and "uploaded" his soul to the data network And thanks to the items dropped by its weekly boss, especially the Anomalous Tree Marrow, can be deduced that his soul is fused to the tree.

Dottore and his themes with lotus flower

The Dottore community has associated Dottore with the Lotus flower mostly because of that Lotus mask that Dottore has never used in the official game (hopefully that means Dottore is playable) But it also intensified when Datattore's splash art resembled the shape of a Lotus

The Lotus flower (scientific names Nelumbo Nucifera) represents many things to South Asia and the Middle East, Dottore is from Sumeru and stays in Sumeru so he draws a lot of inspiration from those regions In Buddhism, the lotus represents rebirth (and it's very important since Dottore is obviously going to come back lol) buuuut in Hinduism symbolizes things like fertility, the cosmic uterus and simultaneous fertilization (I don't know if you knew, but the lotus has a unique botanical characteristic because it blooms and gives seeds at the same time many ppl give it a meaning of immediate cause and effect of conception, representing a state of constant and active fertility) In addition to that... the lotus is universally known to represent purity, spiritual awakening and resilience (So can you please release Dottore already? they're taking too long)

Dottore and the alchemy

Dottore is deeply connected to alchemy his research into the creation and modification of human life directly links him to the principles of the discipline, and from this also come many connections between him and fire

Fire is completely linked to alchemy as the driving force of absolute transformation in the alchemical tradition represents the transformative energy capable of separating the pure from the impure, destroying old structures, and facilitating transmutation

And what does alchemy have to do with life/fertility? As for Dottore, he's not so far removed of these two in my opinion... the creation of segments, managing to divide himself into multiple clones, is basically creating life (artificially), he modified divinity by altering Scaramouche to turn him into an artificial god, an act of biological engineering that intersects with alchemical ambitions, the elixir of immortality, and his esotericism in seeking the transmission of the soul... like come on guys “In the event that my soul was depleted, say we extracted my data from someone else's memories... yours, for instance, and then combined it with your intact soul as the base material... what would we create?” Dottore literally suggested a chemical marriage to Pantalone.... Dottore and the moon

But it doesn't just stay like that, Dottore has a connection to the moon since it's revealed that one of the central axes of his ultimate experiments to challenge the divine order when we face him as the boss in the domain called the False Moon Institute, and the boss's name is Heretic of the False Moon, he practically became a temporary lunar god

The moon and fertility is one of the oldest, most universal, and profound symbols in human history. It stems primarily from the temporal synchronicity between celestial cycles and the cycles of life on Earth and unlike the sun (associated with logic, unchanging light, and masculinity) the moon constantly changes, dies, and is reborn, making it the ultimate archetype of feminine energy examples include the synchronicity of the 28-day cycles, lunar phases, and gestation, as well as fertility in agriculture. In fact, many goddesses linked to fertility and motherhood are connected to the moon.

I don't know, I find it curious that they linked Dottore with the most fertile universal symbol along with a design similar to the Shade Of Life in genshin... I will live with many doubts

I'm sorry, but I couldn't not talk about one of the main inspirations for creating the character of Dottore, Otto has many connections to the creation of life he's literally an innate creator of artificial life, preservation and resurrection using his expertise as a scientist and doctor, he used the Abbys Flower as a laboratory and self-repair tool to stabilize clones, create bloodlines, and for healing and regenerative purposes..... clones, synthetic bodies, genetic engineering, biological manipulation I will be speechless when it comes to expressing how much I love the character of Otto...

But if Otto already has connections to the creation of life or simply life itself Luocha is even worse and he doesn't even hide it. he's clearly Otto Apocalypse's expy, and as part of a foundation belongs to the Path Of Abundance and its resemblance to the eon Yaoshi, The Abundance is linked to the principle of life that continues, grows, and multiplies, this includes healing, regeneration, and longevity, and something more sinister like life that refuses to stop his power are literally geared towards restoring bodies and keeping life circulating in an almost impersonal way and one can deduce from its design that it shares funerary and healing symbols (don't forget that yaoshi in the betas was called the fertility path)

remember the Sumeru Rose right??? "Antifreeze Blood" and Anthocyanins

this is the Anthocyanins, a water-soluble pigments that give plants their red, purple, and blue hues.

In the frozen tundra of Siberia and other Slavic regions, plants suffer extreme climatic stress, to defend themselves and avoid turning into ice crystals, the cells of plants begin to produce this pigment en masse as a natural chemical antifreeze, they absorb solar radiation to warm the plant and tint its leaves and shoots a dark, glossy, thick blood red.

In their folklore and mythology, red flowers means the fire of life against winter, spilled blood or forbidden knowledge obtained through sacrifice (in fact there is a myth that explains it)

The Dance of Death

During the worst epidemics of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, cities became total quarantine zones. Whenever the plague rolled in, rulers and wealthy citizens packed up and fled to the countryside. In the middle of all that abandonment and chaos, plague doctors and priests were pretty much the only authorities who actually stayed behind to face the horror on the streets, since the science of the time blended religion with medicine, both professions needed each other to manage the chaos of the infected cities, Doctors treated human bodies while clergymen treated the soul (since the plague was considered a divine punishment) so doctors rarely treated a patient if he had not confessed to a cleric beforehand bcs a cursed soul could not be cured

The Lazarillos and Pure Faith (14th Century)

In the original Black Death outbreak, their teamwork came from sheer desperation. Back then, doctors just wore regular cloth clothes (no bird masks yet ☹️ ....) and they worked side by side with priests in lazarillos (make-shift plague hospitals administered by religious orders, but the technical staff were plague doctors) and it was a total team effort:

While the doctor tried to stabilize the patient's body, the priest kept people from completely panicking, which was a huge deal because hysteria caused massive riots in the wards.

If they visited an infected house, they went in together. The doctor figured out if the patient had a fighting chance, and the priest stepped in right behind him to prepare the dying for the afterlife bcs they breathed the same infected air and handled the same fluid exposures, both professions caught the plague and died at insane rates, literally they were literally wiping out together......

Bureaucracy and the Bird Mask (17th Century)

Flash forward to 1619, and a French doctor named Charles de Lorme invents the famous leather suit with the beak-shaped bird mask 🙂‍↕️ and by this time the doctor and priest dynamic wasn't just about faith anymore... it was a highly regulated government control system

The doctor called the shots, Protected by his leather suit and beak mask, the doctor was the only one allowed to go in first. The priest had to wait outside at a safe distance until the doctor tapped the door with his wooden cane to give him the green light for last rites.

Shared paperwork, Since people were dropping dead in days, wills had to be written on the fly, the doctor (from a distance) certified that the dying person was still lucid, and the priest blessed the document, both had to sign together as official legal witnesses.

Counting the bodies, at the end of every day, the bird-masked doctor and the parish priest had to sit down and cross-reference their lists of the dead to make sure the government's body count was completely accurate.

I find it curious that Pantalone and Dottore are inspired by the two professions that irl helped each other in such a catastrophe

Pantalone's design evokes a high ranking Orthodox cleric with liturgical vestments and the Globus Cruciger constellation and its strong inspirations based on a real priest named Feofan Prokopovich, Dottore for his part, reinterprets the 17th century beaked mask and all his characterization linked to crows

The Clergy banks and economy

Although the Church declared greed a sin.... in the age of the plague, the clergy controlled the world's economy, Monasteries functioned as the first modern banks, lending to kings and insuring fortunes. When the plague struck, the fear of hell became a multimillion dollar financial business.... wealthy people paid fortunes in gold for "indulgences" (papers that bought their entry into heaven) furthermore, if a wealthy family died without heirs from the disease, the Church automatically inherited all their lands and palaces (lol rests in piss my granny she got hit by a-) while the people lay dying in the streets, the clergy accumulated capital and controlled the flow of money.

The Doctor alchemy and science

In those centuries, medicine was not separate from magic or alchemy, Plague doctors didn't know what caused the disease, so they experimented with the occult, searching for the "Elixir of Life" to become immune, their prescriptions were a bit...well hum.... they made the sick drink ground gold and used arsenic or mercury to try to "neutralize" the plague's poison, but the most disturbing thing was that, although the Church forbade opening corpses, considering it a horrific sin, these doctors secretly performed illegal autopsies in dark basements to study the anatomy of the dead.

In the end.... these two professions were two sides of the same coin........ Clergy controlled the economy while the Doctor controlled the bodies, ppl who perform religious functions suffered massive mortality during the Black Death (estimated at between 42% and 45%), this high death rate led to a severe shortage of priests and a crisis of faith that called into question the moral authority of the Church and forbidden science, churches and wealthy cities needed to pay these doctors fortunes so that the financial system wouldn't completely collapse due to a lack of workers and the Doctors were critical figures during the epidemics, most were junior physicians or young mens hired by cities to care for all citizens rich or poor, needed the clerical capital to finance their clandestine laboratories and potions, It was like a perfect and twisted alliance 🙂‍↕️ the economy provided the funds and science did the dirty work in the shadows.

The silence within the Zapolyarny Palace was not peaceful; it was the suffocating stillness of a frozen hourglass. Feofan remained seated before an imperial desk of dark wood, surrounded by the palace’s severe luxury, having abandoned the rigid formality of his crimson throne to work in greater comfort. His long fingers, covered by fitted white gloves, held a fountain pen that glided with meticulous precision across an endless stack of military edicts and banking budgets. Beside him, a small pile of elemental Delusions awaited his signature.

“Miss me?”

Feofan froze mid-motion. Only then, after hearing the question resonate through the fabric of his mind, did he notice the intrusion into the shared consciousness that connected him to a certain special person. A soft chuckle escaped his lips before he pulled his glacial gaze away from the documents, a few strands of his pale bluish-white hair falling gently to either side of his face.

A few steps away from the desk, the silhouette had already fully materialized. He stood with his back turned, one arm resting lazily behind him. The intruder waited for the exact span of a heartbeat before slowly turning his head over his shoulder, allowing the palace’s artificial light to illuminate his fully exposed face. He smiled sideways with that familiar cynicism of his, narrowing those impossible green eyes—absurdly vivid against the pallor of his features.

Feofan watched as the vapor of his own breath met the cold air of the room. He set his pen aside and, with impeccable composure, lifted both hands to his head. He removed the heavy platinum imperial crown and carefully placed it on the wooden surface beside the papers.

Pushing his chair back, he rose to his feet, closing the distance. As he walked, he removed his heavy white fur mantle and draped it over the shoulders of his beloved God of Wisdom, covering the light white and olive-green silk that flowed around the other’s body. Though deities did not experience climate in the same way mortals did, Feofan knew all too well the thinness of Sumeru’s garments and the inherent fragility of nature’s sprouts against northern blizzards.

Zandik let out a quiet laugh, sinking into the fur that smelled of snow.

“What are you doing here? You didn’t need to come like this. I don’t want the cold weakening you—I could have visited you myself,” Feofan demanded, frowning with the cold severity that dictated every one of his official movements.

Zandik’s smile widened. He raised a hand and, cradling Feofan’s cheek, forced him to tilt his face downward so he could hold his gaze with shameless confidence.

“So you could alert all the people of Sumeru?” he teased, slowly brushing his thumb across Feofan’s cold cheek. “Sorry. I’d rather avoid the commotion.”

Oh, yes.... the memory of the last official visit flickered between them.

Their previous meeting remained fresh in both their minds.

When Feofan arrived in Sumeru, he had not come alone. He had brought Fatui soldiers and diplomats in tow, crossing the borders with military pomp impossible to ignore, taking the Dendro Archon completely by surprise. Zandik had been genuinely concerned at the time, fully aware that an appearance of such magnitude—motivated solely by Feofan’s selfish, mundane desire to see him in person—would throw the Akademiya into chaos and spark panic over a possible invasion.

In the end, the crisis had been handled through the clever façade of political affairs. Before the terrified sages, they constructed a dense front of trade negotiations and financial decrees to justify Snezhnaya’s presence. Yet behind the doors of the Sanctuary of Surasthana, the place where Zandik resided in confinement, those supposed “political matters” took on an entirely different meaning. The diplomatic treaty had been reduced to the two of them alone, sharing intimacy and mutual company.

Feofan let out a soft nasal scoff, barely concealing his amusement.

“The people of your Akademiya are prone to paranoia,” he said with a faintly sardonic expression. “That my presence happened to destabilize their commercial agendas was merely a secondary benefit.”

His frosted gaze lowered for a moment, traveling along the Dendro Archon’s silhouette, from the sacred leaf-shaped brooch securing a lock of his snow-white hair to more mundane details—such as his narrow waist, perfectly framed by the folds of his robe.

Zandik did not step back, maintaining that analytical intensity in his gaze. Feofan released his wrist and slid both hands along Zandik’s sides, measuring the narrowness of that waist with his palms before pulling him closer with firm intent, erasing every trace of calculated distance.

The kiss came without warning. It was thick and hungry, saliva and breath mingling through their mental network, growing so intense that Zandik had to tangle his fingers in Feofan’s shoulders to keep his balance. When they separated for air, Feofan lowered his head sharply, pressing his lips against the exposed curve of Zandik’s neck in heavy, lingering kisses.

Zandik let out a muffled moan, his entire body shuddering violently. Feofan’s skin possessed an inherent cold that seeped through thin fabric, gloves, and lips alike, sending a shiver down Zandik’s spine so intense that his thighs tensed beneath his clothes.

“My... how bold,” Zandik murmured breathlessly, a teasing smile tugging at his lips even as his fingers dug firmly into Feofan’s shoulders. “Did the Cryo monarch miss my body that much?”

Feofan pressed one last kiss there and rubbed his face briefly against the base of Zandik’s throat before lifting his gaze. He could hardly be blamed; both of them had been starving for contact.

“Can’t I miss both your person and your body at once? I am the God of Love—allow me to play my role,” Feofan replied, his voice rough with desire, tightening his grip on Zandik’s waist before tilting him backward to reclaim his mouth within the intimacy of their shared network.

This time, Zandik took the initiative, trapping Feofan’s cold jaw between his fingers as he captured his lips with hunger. Feofan did not take long to respond; his hands closed around Zandik’s waist, pulling him flush against his body until all distance vanished between them, deepening the kiss into something slower, denser, laden with a silent tension that seemed to spread even through the mental bond they shared. When they finally pulled apart, it was only because breathing became unavoidable.

As they separated, Feofan rested his forehead against Zandik’s. Their breaths mingled into visible clouds, dissolving into the frozen air of the study.

“You had work,” Zandik murmured, making no attempt to pull away.

Feofan narrowed his eyes, glancing sideways at the pile of papers with indifference before returning his gaze to his favorite Archon, warmth curling into a rare smile.
