I don't think the show is going back and forth in what it's trying to say regarding addiction, I think it's been clear all along? Like Mckay said last week, you should try and understand. The show is showing us people who can't understand, or who maybe because of their own trauma, don't want to understand. And yeah that's hard, because their showing us sides to these characters we may not like or agree with. But that's life. There isn't a person on this planet who is black and white, good or bad. It's always somewhere in-between.

No because when Santos made the comment about relapsing the first thing that came to my head was "wow what an Ogilvie thing to say". The guy we know is unempathetic and is played off for his lack of social skills and we are supposed to see as wrong. Trinity isn't supposed to be characterized that way (or at least most people don't see her as antisocial, I read her like that but wtv maybe that's just me) so it is more uncomfortable that someone we are definitely supposed to empathize with is making those comments.
