You need new furniture, most definitely. The small house you could barely afford to buy has very few, and they were unfortunately already filled with rot long before you acquired the property.
Now, you stand before the carpenter's shop, determined to bargain on the price of everything you need as much as you can, but knowing in your heart that you probably won't.
A bell rings atop the door as you step inside, anxiety blooming within your belly as you look around. It's not too large of a shopβ¦it might not be so costly after all- that thought immediately disappears as you lift the price tag of a beautiful mahogany table.
You jump, startled by the thundering voice coming from behind the counter.
Your stunned eyes settle on an enormous, green-colored figure. An orcβ¦you knew of a couple of them living in your village, but you never actually saw one.
He's truly gigantic in stature, his shirt looks to be struggling to contain his muscles fullyβ¦his biceps strain against the fabric. It's intimidating to say the least, but he doesn't appear to be frightening at all, quite the opposite actually. He seems amused by your jumpiness, although not maliciouslyβ¦he gives the impression to almost be endeared by you.
"Missβ¦" You immediately become aware of the fact that you are outright staring at him.
"My apologies." You curtsy, dropping the price tag. "Whatever happened to mister Hallowman?"
"He uhβ¦had health complications unfortunately." The orc says as he rubs the back of his head. "I'm acting as his substitute for the time being."
Your eyes widen. "He didn't die, did he-?"
"No noβlord no. He should be back in a week or two, his sister took him to a big city doctor and everything-" He frets to explain.
A sigh of relief quickly pushes its way out of you. "Thank goodnessβ" You exhale. "βI never actually shopped here, but I heard he's a staple of the communityβ¦"
"Sure is." The orc grins.
An awkward silence takes over the shop, making you gingerly resume looking around to, at the very least, ease some of the dull tension.
"Soβ¦miss" He hesitantly asks. "What exactly do you require-?"
You turn to him, your coin pouch swinging from your arm.
"A table, a coffee table, chairs and possibly a bookcase; only problem isβ¦" You approach the counter, removing the small fabric bag from your wrist and placing it onto the flat, wooden surface.
"My budget is rather uhmβ" You clear your throat. "βrestricted."
He eyes you up and down before reaching for your coin pouch. "May I?"
His thick green fingers lift the tiny object, emptying it fully to examine its content.
"Alright, wellβ¦" His tone makes you grit your teeth with apprehension.
"Is it truly that little-?"
"Mhβ¦" He keeps staring down at the coins, counting them one by one. His pointy, claw-like nails click against the metal while he pensively evaluates. As he does so, your eyes begin to roam over his silhouette. You can't help but peer at the way his tusks seem to gleam whenever he makes the slightest of movements; it's rather charming.
"I think we could work something outβ¦although you probably won't be getting that bookcase."
You nod, surprised that he's even considering helping you out. "That's okay, I can always come back for that."
"Alright then, shall we?"
With his help, you pick out the things you need, surprisingly managing to get almost everything on your list.
You watch him as he checks all things to be in order. Despite yourself, you wonder for a moment if getting bent over the counter could make the price go down, he is rather handsome. Your mind wandersβ¦to have his tusks drag over your neck as he palms your breast with his large hand, his thick cock pushing inside you as he barely fitsβ¦could you even take him fully?
"I can deliver these to you by tomorrow, but I can't really give any predictions on the hour."
He's the one doing deliveries-?
"We're understaffed, so everything's on me unfortunatelyβ¦"
Your breath catches in your throat. He's going to come over to your house, tomorrow.
You need to clean everything.
"Of course, thank you so much." You curtsy, your nose facing downward to hide the rosy color of your cheeks and the tiny smile that has spontaneously formed on your lips. That's when the idea pops into your head, you could charm him. You haven't had a partner, not even a single fling, in over a yearβ¦he could help with that.
The minute you return to your house you begin to tidy up the entirety of it. You sweep, you scrub, you dredge every single inch of your home, and then you get to working on yourself. Your body is practically moving out of your control, it's been so long since you've been so eager to prove yourself to someoneβ¦it's rather exciting.
The morning of, you draw a bath, dowsing yourself in rose water before covering your body with a pale scented powder.
It's almost embarrassingβ¦you've barely spoken three words to him. It cannot be that bad, can it? The worst that can happen is him not catching onto your hints. You won't simply go up to the guy and say: "Do you wish to copulate?". It will have to be tasteful, subtle. You'll offer him tea as thanks for bringing the furniture over, then, you'll simply ask him to stay. If he doesn't accept it won't be so terrible, no harm no foul, right? Right, but your nervousness won't ease, no matter what.
You spend twenty minutes picking out your outfit, and forty to decide on what to do with your hair. Even if you're aware of the fact that rejection is on the table, you realize you're actually enjoying the preparation, regardless of the possible outcome. You sit in front of your mirror, admiring your work.
At around six o'clock you hear a heavy knock being struck on your door. Your heart skips a bit as you fling yourself to the entrance.
"Good to see you again, miss." The giant orc grins, nodding his head at you. The furniture is right behind him, waiting to be brought inside.
"A signature, please." He says as he hands you a clipboard.
You nod with a smile, grabbing the pencil held onto it. Once he has taken it back he makes a tender sounding: "Mh."
"Pretty name." He compliments, checking the paper.
"Thank youβ¦" You say as a smile delicately blooms onto your lips. "Come on in."
You make space for him, a little worried about his body fitting through the doorframe. Surprisingly he's able to bring every item inside with little trouble. Lifting the heavy table seems like a simple walk in the park for a creature of his size.
After he's done with his work, it's time to ask the question: "Would you like to stay for some tea-?" You nervously inquire as you fidget with your fingers.
"Of course, how kind.". You smile, the tension magically leaving your shoulders as you walk to the kitchen. Once you return to the living room you place the tray on your brand new coffee table. It might just be your mind playing tricks, but you can swear that he glanced at your cleavage when you leaned down to pour him a cup.
You settle next to him on the sofa, cordially bringing your teacup to your lips.
"What uhmβ¦made you decide to be a carpenter-? Aren't orcs usually more suited at being blacksmiths?"
The orc's laugh reverberates against the walls of your house, making your stomach flip for a brief second.
"I guess so, I'm simply not that traditional." He says as his large fingers wrap around the tiny porcelain handle. "Not all orcs have the same vocations, you realize?" He teases as he brings the polished white teacup to his tusks.
Laughter springs from his chest once more, it's a nice sound.
"Relax, miss. You are as tense as a wooden board."
You chuckle, slightly melting at his warm tone. "Well, you would knowβ¦" You mumble as you sip your tea.
From the corner of your eye you can see a smirk painting itself on the orc's sharp features. Your breath is starting to simmer in your throat, your hands are trembling around your cup, making the tiny plate you're holding clink against the pale ceramic. It's luckily not too loudβ¦
"Are you worried about something?" He asks, his amused tone hitting your ears as he places his drink onto the table. You do the same before folding your hands on your lap to fidget with your fingers.
"Nothing much, I've simplyβ¦" You trail off, your eyes suddenly finding comfort in the sight of the floor. "β¦It's nothing." You smile, looking up at him again.
He seems perplexed, but luckily, not judgemental.
You get stuck on a thought for a bit: How many people have thrown themselves at him? He's so absurdly attractive that it would be foolish for someone to not even try, then why is it that you feel so incredibly foolish for simply having this interest in him? It's nothing to be ashamed of, after all a woman has needs, and it's just been so long.
You're making yourself blush. Your hand waves in the air, trying to fan the warmth away from your cheeks.
"Your face is all red...Do you have a fever?" He muses as his fingers comes up to your forehead, then the thought hits you, maybe he's also attempting to "court you" in his own way. The rough back of his hand brushes against your skin. You lean into it, closing your eyes.
"You seem fine." His voice is very soft despite its deep quality.
"Perhaps you should check again." You smile, opening your eyes as a flirty giggle escapes you. A pang of chagrin leaps inside of your chest at the realization that you're acting like a smitten schoolgirl.
The orc smiles, a hint of smugness coloring his olive lips. His claw-like nail grazes your skin, his palm following soon after to cup your cheek. He gets closer, almost kissing you.
Nothing happens for a few moments, he simply stays still. Your heart is racing in your chest, your breath stutters in your throat. Just as you're about to close the distance he pulls away.
"If you think that's going to lower the price on that bookcase it's not going to." He jokes as he leans back against your couch.
Your eyebrows furrow as you watch him pick the teacup back up to drink its content.
"That's not what I-" The orc gets up, leaving the brew onto the table.
"I'm kidding, miss." He laughs. "I prefer to properly know the ladies I meet beforeβ¦anything happens."
You stand up as well, utterly confused.
It'sβcaptivating-? Embarrassing, but it draws you in. You try to say something, nothing comes out.
He doesn't wait for an answer, he simply gives you an understanding smileβseemingly comprehending your stupefactionβbows and exits your home, leaving you stunned and completely turned on.
Getting that bookcase is going to be awkward.
