Gardening has been the greatest escape lately. Lots of time to reflect… and:

Stone cold sober for a while now.

New job = new career path.

Taking things slower in life, and it’s so.. peaceful. So quiet and nice.

It’s been a while, I know.

I had to take a quick trip to FL - mom went into emergency surgery Thursday morning for clots in her lungs. She was out by Friday night in time for her birthday Saturday. She’s home, healing, but a long road ahead of her.

Wanted to make the best of it by taking lunch breaks by the beach & coffee visits between hospital visits.

I was able to visit a home I hadn’t been in since I was 8, and I was flooded with nostalgia. Seeing a side of my family I don’t get to see much unless they come to visit up here was so nice. Sent home with some heirlooms as well.

Life has been so hectic and exhausting and so many things have changed over the last few months.

Because of what had happened w mom, we found out a few things I’m not able to speak on yet but we’ve been discussing means of moving down there in the near future so I can help take care of her. It’s a little scary thinking about uprooting my children and moving away from the rest of my family up here.. but the thought of starting fresh is exciting, too!

Goldenrod, continued.

I’m blessed to live beside a plot full of native pollinators - one of which being Goldenrod. It’s growing so strong and abundant, thankfully being just a few steps away from my carport.

This native plant feeds so many of our pollinators.

They are deliciously fragrant, and the natural medicinal properties they hold are this southern witch’s staple amongst the household.

Oh, Mother Nature.
