Lately I’ve been drowning myself in happy endings. Because at some point life sucked. Seriously.

I wondered, if SanSan can get one. For other things I ship happy endings were relatively easy or even natural, but this one… I mean, it’s ASOIAF, a very young girl, a very broken man. It’s not meant to have a happy ending.

She was sad for him, she realized. Somehow, the fear had gone away. The silence went on and on, so long that she began to grow afraid once more, but she was afraid for him now, not for herself. She found his massive shoulder with her hand. "He was no true knight," she whispered to him. The Hound threw back his head and roared. Sansa stumbled back, away from him, but he caught her arm. "No," he growled at her, "no, little bird, he was no true knight." (A Game of Thrones - Sansa II)

it does not need to be romantic if you do not want it to be but whatever it is you can deny that Sansa is the only light in Sandor's world.

Only one yes, because he was able to care for Arya only because the little beautiful courteous and proper lady, the singing little bird, touched him on his shoulder and with a delicate force reached the heart that he exposed to her an only her. The only soul that saw and recognized the pain of see a world where your ideals get dragged away by someone you should trust, the only human to recognize your humanity under the monstrous mask.

It was on that night that Sansa Stark vanished from the custody of the crown. The confusion and chaos that arose during the Battle made it possible for Sandor Clegane, known to the court as the Hound, to remove the Princess Sansa Stark from King’s Landing

In time, Winterfell was reached. The Chronicle records that Sandor halted outside the walls and approached first without the girl, a cautionary action. He returned later with a scowl and brought her in through the gates.

When asked whether she had been mistreated during the journey, the girl answered with firm clarity that she had not.
