Wally West should stay dead.
No, this doesn’t mean I didn’t like him or think he deserved to die, but look at Artemis and Dick and The Team and everyone who knew him.
They’ve been grieving but they’ve also been moving on. Growing up, and making themselves better because of their loss.
Now that they’re ‘feeling better’ - for lack of better wording - they’re starting to say goodbye even though it hurts, and they shouldn’t be rewarded with Wally coming back to life and throwing everyone off and feeling bad because he can’t re-find his place in their lives.
They should be rewarded with knowing that they’re making progress.
Yes, they’ll always miss Wally - and so will we - but they’ll wonder one day when saying his name stopped hurting so much. They’ll realize instead of seeing Wally first when they saw Kid Flash they finally saw Bart - and maybe Bart would stop feeling like a fraud for taking the name and the suit of someone he was living in the shadow of because the world won’t know about Wally’s sacrifice.
And that’s what I think the writers should show/have been showing us.
Maybe these hallucinations are just fan service, or even implying Wally is alive, but I’d like to think this is their way of showing us that everyone is ready to say a final goodbye.
Not permanent because obviously the kind of pain from losing someone - someone you couldn’t save, and had to just stand a little ways away from while they faded from existence and you couldn’t do anything but stand there helplessly - will never go away. But just enough that he doesn’t define them anymore.
That it won’t hurt so much when they remember him.
