OUTLANDER

After downloading VPN, creating an account, registering with Channel4, blocked all the 'pop up' ads, I was finally ready to watch this hotly contested series. I had my glass of wine, sorry, but SS beverages didn't call out to me, sat in my Lazy Boy recliner and hit play on my IPad.

Right out of the shoot, ET is running through the woods like a track star, dodging tree limbs, tree stumps. water puddles with her entourage following behind. They all stop...and flashback to the sunny, children filled suburbia neighborhood of Leeds. Birds chirping, children playing, people watering their lawns. I have to say, I love the atmosphere..love the home structures. Episode 1 gives the viewer the sense of 'home sweet home' vibes. ET & AE moving into their new home, unloading their furnishings, which to me seemed very meager considering their home was filled with allot of 'stuff'. Soon the nosey neighbors are peeking out their windows trying to see who's moved into the once vacant property. Out walks JD. tall, very fit, dressed in what I presumed was her 'yoga attire'. ( Throughout 6 episodes, I was just waiting for her breast to 'accidently' fall to the wayside. Introductions are made and soon SH emerges from the house, walks towards the gathering and is introduced to the 'newbie's' on the block. At that moment, I'm sure all the SamOnly's who watched, literally creamed in their Depends. The 'beautiful' couple meets the new neighbors!

The story progresses, JD & SH offering their help to unpack the moving truck, place the furniture and then the 4 of them toast the new friendship.

The writer's and director have set the stage. I could already see the wheels turning in AE's mind...what the hell is this 'big guy' trying to prove by personally carrying a dishwasher off the truck into the house. Not sure what kind of dishwashers they have in Leeds, but where I live, it's a two man lift. SH is a 'superman' character, hunky cop with a gorgeous, seemingly hot wife. AE is a book nerd, tall, thin, lanky, nice looking with a pregnant, beautiful, school teacher wife. Two complete opposites...but then, opposites are supposed to attract, right?? They do...but not all of them have the same magnetic pull of attraction. Which is where the story takes various twists and turns.

I liked the story and by adding the creepy neighbor with the roving eyes, it gave more depth..if that's possible. Add in SH's secrets, several secrets and his character will eventually break under all the stress of shouldering his 'secrets'. I thought JD's character, Becca was the most open and honest of all 4 characters, then AE's character Pete was the most believable, IMO. I empathized with his situation as he was pulled into something he wasn't ready to handle. ET's character was well hidden until the end. She was actually getting on my nerves until episode 6, when I finally figured what drives Evie to the brink of destruction...not only hers but all 4 characters.

Were the sex scenes steamy as everyone said...yes, but less than the first season of OL. VC's presence was definitely seen in episode 3. Hand placement, arm placement, verbal insinuations vs actuality. The only statement that I thought could have been eliminated was SH's 'Take a good look'. ET look's down at this 'frontal' parts and licks her lips. Really?? That seemed a bit to 'I'm a man, hear me roar' chauvinistic, cavalier attitude. I felt his character was demeaning AE's, Pete.

Was their chemistry between the characters...yes but I think the chemistry between SH and JD was far more convincing than SH & ET.

Is this BAFTA worthy material, doubtful. Will it propel anyone's career into orbit, doubtful. Was it entertaining, yes. Will I watch more of Jessica De Gowu's material, yes. Alfred Enoch, maybe, Eleanor Tomlinson, yes, Sam Heughan, yes. The ensemble jelled perfectly and I believe that is due to the director and the ambiance on set.

If you can download VPN, it's worth the $12.99, 1-month fee. I've already removed the app from my IPad. I won't re-watch it. Once will suffice.

As a side note: I want Sam to succeed and climb the ladder of success. However, I do not think this is the genre that will do the honors. I wish he could find a role like Richard Gere in 'An Officer and a Gentleman'. There's a role that he could take to monumental heights. Forget the Bond's...give him something to sink his acting chomps into.

I thought this final episode of Season 6 was really well done. They covered a lot of ground and left us hanging in a way that leaves me eager for the next season. 

1.  I thought Caitriona did a particularly fine job showing a full range of emotions. I could feel her guilt, her grief, her anger, and her fear. Watching that fear increase exponentially when she was separated from Jamie truly hit me. Her despair was tangible.

2.  Sophie continues to take me out of every scene she’s in. I’ll never understand how she was cast as a major character.

3.  Nearly as bad as Sophie’s acting is having to watch Broger making love in the tent. Talk about a Eww Factor of EF10…

I was part of Puffy's WordPress group and her Stella source and her "locked vault" full of SC "legit receipts", I've been part of Sis Patreon just to being keep posted about SC privy content. Tbh, it's been a long journey for me.

In short, after Cait's wedding I sent a message to Jess confronting her about all the lies she fed shippers by implying for years she had sources and receipts that she conveniently opted to keep for herself in order to "protect" SC privacy.

Her answer: "I didn't mislead anyone. All I did was speculate about two actors, that's what shipping is about, no one had receipts or facts about them being together in RL. It's not my fault if Purv and antis turned out to be right about Caitriona is married to TM".

At that time I felt stupid, duped. And now I realized how gullible I used to be! All I'm saying is this ship is full of pretenders and liars who knows nothing so seeing you reblogging one of Jessica old posts today just made me revive what a blind and fool I was.

Today, that point has been reached. I have received many insulting, unkind and hateful messages in the last few days. I have ignored them all and have not really felt addressed or offended. I have rather checked them off according to the motto " How poor your life must be, if you write such messages".

But today I have already for the 5.!!!!time received the reference to a NYP article and study, with the headline "Celebrity-obsessed people are less intelligent" and the addition from a Cait stan, that this study very clearly confirms what CB said in the VF article about the sliver of her fans, and that shippers are underexposed and less intelligent than average.

I took the trouble to have a quick look at the study. One statement in it was:

"It is possible that individuals with stronger cognitive abilities are less likely to express higher celebrity worship levels because they can recognize the marketing strategies behind a celebrity... but it is also possible that the cognitive effort put into maintaining the absorption in a celebrity may interfere with other tasks that require attention and focus."

Especially the first part of the statement I find very interesting considering the fact, that we have been called underexposed by Cait stans almost daily since the beginning of the Belfast promo, but this sort of fans are the ones who in their hero worship buy everything Cait sells to the public.

Indeed, it is also interesting that this part of the fandom is actually endowed with so much intelligence and cognitive ability that they notice that since the publication of the VF article, the statements in the interviews, TV shows, etc. have been significantly adjusted.

Suddenly the fans are great because they plant trees for an organization that hasn't been mentioned in months, OL beyond season 7 is suddenly imaginable again, when talking about the baby, it now suddenly goes beyond peeing and changing diapers, ... There is still an infinite abundance of further examples, which I will gladly spare.

I know that part of a PR's job is to scour Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, etc. for statements about their respective clients, and then make appropriate adjustments in how they interact with media, etc. This is completely normal and is also done in this way in many corporate areas.

But I don't know what I should feel more insulted about in my intelligence:

a) that Sam, Cait, etc. onlys call me unintelligent, although they are the ones who take everything sold to them at face value and unconditionally adore their idols.

b) that Cait, PR, etc. make these adjustments and generally think their fans are so underexposed that it's not noticeable

c) that Cait, PR, etc. are aware that this part of the fandom is well aware of what adjustments are being made, based on some of our statements/posts. On the one hand, they called shippers often crazy and delusional, but on the other hand, they try to appease them by making adjustments in order not to endanger the marketing of a film, product, etc., because they know, that they also need this part of the fans.

Man, I wanted it to be great. To be a great feature about Cait and her run for awards season. The photoshoot is certainly the best in years.

But I don’t know about you but I cringed and stopped reading halfway through that article. Yikes is an understatement.

Why wouldn’t she have used wording such as ‘Spill beans on wedding or baby-to-be?’ Cait was due to have her first baby and hadn’t given birth at this stage so if there was only one unborn child, why write ‘children’ and use the plural?? Unless…👶👶👶

Let’s give a wee shout out to Bridalhairstylistdublin in thanks for the truth…you’re the best!

Now… do we believe Cait’s with Toto and their only child in Paris and Sam’s with his child-bride on the slopes?? Or do we believe Bridalhairstylistdublin and that Sam and Cait are with their children?
