Turns out that Harvard is actually good
A friend of mine nailing it today.
Best. Best.
Mod Applications Opening:
Hey friends! So as you may have noticed, weâve gone on a bit of an answering spree - I think weâve found that with our schedules the amount of asks we get is too much for the amount of mods we have right now.Â
This means we want to open up mod applications again!Â
Mod Application Form
*Please fill this form out and submit it to me. None of these forms will be posted and are for my eyes only.
Requirements:
Must be a feminist
Must have time to get on at least a few times a week
Must be able to admit when youâre wrong.
Must be ace inclusive
Must be abortion positive
Must be LGBTQIAAPN+ inclusive
Must be inclusive of PoC
No TERFs or REGs allowed
Must be able to not only answer asks but also reblog/create posts.
Some notes: this is a hard job and youâre going to be put under a magnifying glass. Something I love about FAM is that Iâve been able to be wrong, but also to own up to my mistakes. This is something you HAVE to be willing to do. To be gracious and understanding, and to listen to people.
Even if you donât fill out the application, reblogs would be appreciated!

I want to be really clear about something: Planned Parenthood has done more to prevent abortion than the pro-life movement ever has.
Yup, preventing abortion by giving abortions. Makes sense!
No you fucking crusty nutsack giving people the education and the tools to not become pregnant in the first fucking place
thatâs all.
I, for one, am VERY thankful, that my then quite young, unmarried and scared parents, recognized me as the tiny human being that I was instead of a âchoiceâ, did not deny me of my right to live, and did not let me become one of the 29.5% of babies (1,574,000) to be aborted in the USA in 1986!
I, for one, am VERY thankful, that my then quite young, unmarried and scared mother, recognized that abortion was the right choice for her when she was in an unstable relationship and still trying to get her footing in a new job and school, and did not deny herself of her right to make that choice for herself.Â
I am thankful that she made the choice to become a parent later on after she met my father and her life was more stable, and chose to have me and my younger sisters.Â
I am thankful that my mom made the best choices for herself because without her having an abortion I and my sisters would not exist today.
I am forever thankful that my mother in law, stuck in an abusive relationship at the age of nineteen, chose abortion for herself when her abusive scumbag boyfriend got her pregnant. She knew having a child with someone like that would connect her to him forat least eighteen years, and she knew that someone who treated her so poorly would be a terrible father. She chose abortion for her own safety, and was eventually able to escape her abusive boyfriend. Shortly after, she met my late father in law. They got married, and my husband was born shortly after.
If my MiL hadnât made that decision for herself, my husband wouldnât be here today. Iâm thankful for her courage and to the doctors who helped her safely get the treatment she needed.
Iâm thankful to have been born in a time where my mother had options. She carefully considered them and decided to carry to term, and now here I am. Iâm thankful she wasnât forced or coerced into keeping a pregnancy because I love and respect her.

all yâall had to do was vote for hillary clinton
Iâm reblogging this every single time it pops up.
yall shoulda voted for bernie first and hillary wouldnt have lost
And by yâall we mean
But didnât the DNC literally blacklist Bernie from the media and decide to back Hillary before the primaries even started?
Yea which makes it so much more delicious. Even with NO exposure for nearly 25% of primary and declared the loser 12 hours BEFORE the CA and NJ primary. He still was only beat by super delegates ( Iâm talking about the many people that saw the game was rigged when they declared DURING the primaries).
Yeah, itâd be a shitload more productive if people would stop trying to blame everything on Bernie supporters and maybe throw some of that shade at the DNC officials who fucked literally everyone over. They bankrupted the DNC following the reelection of President Obama, and found themselves in a position where the only way to keep the party afloat was to rig their own primaries to the benefit of Hillary and corporate donors even when they knew that Hillary couldnât win.
Or maybe you could throw some shade at the Russians for interfering with the elections so blatantly that over a dozen intelligence agencies raised the red flag on the 2016 election cycle.
Alternatively, you could throw some shade at the electoral college for not carrying out their Constitutional mandate of keeping madmen and demagogues out of the White House.
Still need more options? Throw some shade at the media networks who used Trumpâs insanity to boost their own ratings, and who suppressed coverage of the DNCâs corruption For Some Reasonâ˘.
Hell, letâs keep the train rolling: letâs throw some shade at the GOP who has consistently turned a blind eye to every form of villainy possible, from Trump and the Russians to a rogueâs gallery of pedophiles and sex offenders. Turning a blind eye wasnât enough? Then how about the fact that theyâve actively obstructed every single investigation into the election? Dwight Eisenhower is probably spinning so hard in his grave that heâs achieved some kind of quantum superstate.
But no, letâs continue to blame the people for a disaster that was caused by the complete corruption and total failure of every single democratic institution in the United States.
Yup. The DNC was fucked. It was still what happened. It was still legal. Bernie himself told everyone to ignore it and vote Hillary, because it was too fucking important to keep Trump out of office. He knew that we needed to work with the system we have currently to be able to fix it in the future. Why is this difficult to understand? Why is Sanders (the guy who I voted for) idealized and damn near worshiped right up until this point?  Yes, he was upset at the DNC. Yes, he was betrayed. Yes, he eventually became an independent. Yes itâs all very worthy of our, and his, contempt. BUT HE STILL THREW HIS SUPPORT BEHIND CLINTON. It was too important not to. So what happens? Enough people in swing states went for third party candidates, or otherwise offered protest votes FOR Trump, that Trump won the swing states. Third party votes were literally enough to win it for him. In the end, the voting that took place due to moral outrage at the DNC effectively handed Trump the presidency. Thatâs not a blame game. Thatâs not some partisan bullshit. Thatâs just numbers. Thatâs why Sanders told us to fucking vote for Clinton. Yes, the DNC is corrupt and fucked. Yes, the GOP is corrupt and fucked. Are you surprised by this? You shouldnât be. Thatâs more or less the reason people wanted Sanders in office in the first place, and its a reason why a substantial number of others blindly believe in Trumpâs promises. But mindless, angry, idealism will not win the day. We have to work from within the system that exists today to reshape it into system we want tomorrow. Throwing your votes away ( or especially to the opposition), will not change shit. Shut the fuck up about not wanting to be blamed. Seriously, if this is your takeaway you need to step back and re-prioritize. If you threw your vote away third party , or as a protest, in this election when you otherwise wanted Sanders to win, you effectively contributed to Trump winning the presidency. Thatâs not opinion. Itâs literally math. And yes, itâs bullshit. Want it to change? Want to at least keep it from getting worse? Then quit shouting âitâs not my faultâ in more words, and vote intelligently to keep people like Trump out of office.
Iâm still kind of confused why Hillary didnât make Bernie her VP choice, though. He was obviously very popular and it would have been a concession for people who were strongly in favor of Bernie. (It may have kept some of those votes from going toward 3rd party or petulantly voting for Trump, too.)
Why choose Tim Kaine?

Why is an adult/child dating relationship automatically abuse?
As a teenager, you are growing and learning at a phenomenal pace. Month by month you are becoming savvier, wiser, more socially equipped. That rapid development continues into your 20s. So as a teenager, a big age gap is a REALLY big age gap, because you are learning and changing so much so quickly during that time. Itâs not totally about âmaturityâ though - itâs about power. As you get older, younger people start to look up to you. They might trust you to know things you really donât, because youâre older and you know how to say stuff convincingly. Getting older also means learning all the different ways people  pressure or manipulate each other. Most of us are still learning about this stuff into our 20s - even if weâre really smart and mature. Someone having a lot more of this knowledge than the person theyâre dating means the power in the relationship is uneven, because the older person can pressure you in ways you canât recognise or defend against.
And Iâm sure teenagers have noticed that if you get into a conflict with an adult, other people take the adultâs word over yours. Even if youâre right. Even if you need help. So if you date an adult, that person has power over you that, even if they donât try to use it, really does effect how the relationship works. Thereâs no way to have a healthy relationship with that big a power difference, because you canât make choices the adult doesnât like without worrying about what theyâll think or do. Youâll end up in situations youâre uncomfortable with and not have the tools or social power you need to get out of them.
The other piece is - adults who date teenagers are looking for something they canât get in their usual dating pool. For most adults, dating a teenager wouldnât even occur to them, because they understand how wrong it would be. Adults have our own groups of friends, our own ways to meet people our own age, and if an adult is flirting with kids theyâre looking for something they canât get from someone whoâs old enough to catch on.
The adults who seek out teenagers want someone they can pressure and manipulate. Theyâre looking for an abusive relationship, and like all abusers theyâre really sneaky about it at first - but they have the added advantage of knowing tricks you havenât had time to learn yet, as well as the advantage of being listened to when you wonât be.
Every smart, mature kid feels older than their age at least some of the time. I know I did. But being really smart and really mature doesnât make you an adult - having had years and years of being around other people and learning the little social things that you canât get from books is part of it. Having the power of an adult - the freedom to come and go as you please, being listened to by the people around you - thatâs the other part.
These are giving babies chemical burns!!!
Please reblog and spread the news to not buy Parent Choice diapers due to them having harsh chemicals that harm cause terrible burns to little ones like this.
So Iâve used the Parentâs Choice brand wipes and diapers on my son before, they literally melted his skin off. After about 2 minutes after contact, his skin turned red hot and started blistering. We were able to get an emergency visit with his pediatrician, but he still has scars where the wipes and diapers burned him over 2 years later. This brand is AWFUL. How itâs still on the market? I have no fucking clue, but do not EVER EVER EVER gift these to someone with a newborn or small infant. The wipes actually have alcohol in them (I tried using the leftover wipes on my own ass and ended up with a nasty rash).
Err on the side of caution and go with a smaller pack of pampers or huggies, or even get a cheap starter set of cloth diapers (ToysRUs sells a small econo pack for $15), but DO NOT use these diapers. Thereâs no worse feeling than seeing those scars and knowing you inadvertently caused them by making a careless purchase.

Pro-lifers and terfs arenât feminists pass it on
Iâm pro life and feminist. I think that anti lifers truly arenât feminist. If you want to be feminist, maybe you should stop telling women that they cant succeed without abortion. Maybe you can stop telling women that they cant go through the pain of pregnancy. Maybe you should stop telling women that they are less then themselves when they have a child.
Show me a pro choice person telling someone that. Show me evidence of pro choicers literally telling pregnant people that they are too weak to handle pregnancy, or that they canât succeed in life unless they abort. Show me these pro choicers who are apparently telling pregnant people everywhere that they must abort because having a child would make them âless than themselves.â Because you fuckers keep harping on about all this shit we apparently say but, big surprise, I literally have not once met a pro choicer who has told a pregnant person that they were too weak for pregnancy or couldnât handle parenthood and had no choice but to abort.
I donât want some anecdotal âI knew a girl in college who had nine abortions in two months and told my friend she had to abortâ bullshit, I donât wanna see some clearly not pro choice edge lord making crass abortion âjokesâ, I want solid evidence that this rhetoric is even half as common in the pro choice community as you insist it is.
Cut the theatrics. Either put up or admit youâre a manipulative liar and shut the fuck up.
@itsforfox Still waiting.
@itsforfox Thatâs not what I asked for and you know it. Iâve seen that argument plenty of times, Iâve even used it myself, because it is a perfectly valid counterpoint to what you even acknowledge to be a âdumbâ pro life argument. It has nothing to do with the topic at hand and does nothing to prove your wild claims. You made a very specific claim, I asked for very specific examples. Prove the things youâve accused us of doing or admit that youâre full of shit.
@itsforfox Saying that having children changes your life and can prohibit you from doing things and pursuing careers isnât misogynistic or sexist, itâs true.my mother would not have been able to make it through medical school if sheâd had me 5 yeas earlier, because pregnancy is really hard and children require attention, more attention than a med student can give. Those are just facts.

fun fact - the human uterus automatically rejects and flushes out/kills around 70% of all fertilized eggs, so defining life as beginning at conception essentially makes it illegal to have functional reproductive organs.
The human uterus is one of the most hostile places for an embryo to implant. Guess all of our uteruses are potential serial killers.
And itâs hostile because human pregnancy is incredibly dangerous by all accounts compared to the rest of the animal kingdom, so bear that in mind whenever someone says âJust go through with the pregnancy and give it up for adoptionâ
And not only is pregnancy in the US Particularly Dangerous, itâs even more so for the Poor and Rural, and even more for Black Women, most often as a result of stress-related illnesses and lack of prenatal care.Â
Oddly enough, the self-professed âpro-lifeâ donât seem to give a damn about any of this, and actively support a political party whose policies have 1)created this problem, 2)actively prevent fixing it, and 3)frequently deny it even exists.
If youâre complaining the judge was mean to Larry Nassar, you are a poor excuse for a manâŚor even a human being!  He abused more than 150 girls! 150! And, those are only the ones we know about; the ones who came forward!
